In the early shows they had to to it without any voice editing, but it was destroying their voices so they went to digitally pitch-shifting the vocals instead.

I love how in one of his concert he played this song and literally NOBODY SING IT...Les literally stopped and just played DISSAPOINTED. This is a blast.

It’s amazing how much effort Les Claypool, Primus, and the cast of South Park put into the theme song. I bet most people who hear the South Park theme think that it sounds out of tune, and jankey. But they probably didn’t realize how much effort went into making this song sound so strange.
I tried to learn this on guitar. Its damn near impossible to play in that key. I always thought it was speed altered, thank you for verifying it.

@@zwebb7327 its one of a very few songs that less doesn't play lead bass in primus. You gotta be otherworldly to share the stage with claypool. Have you heard the albums he did with buckethead? Amazing. I was just watching an early episode of south park, at the end credits there is a very slow version of the the theme, i wonder if thats the normal speed version of the demo he talks about.

In the Primus biography, Les Claypool mentions being nervous as hell during Woodstock 94 because he was playing with Sausage while Primus took a small hiatus, and he hadn't played Primus songs in several months. I'd say he nailed it though!

One of the all time best intros for a show. Definitely top 3, might be number one.
I was the same age as the boys when it first came out. South Park has given me some of the best memories and life lessons if I'm being honest. I'm so happy I snuck into the living room at 10pm that Wednesday night and saw Barbra Streisand the mega bitch on TV!

I personally love how ridiculous the first few seasons were. Also nostalgic, grew up watching them with my dad.. Me and my parents saw the movie one month after my 9th birthday. My mom was bugging about leaving. 😂

I saw Primus perform that on the river my Niagara falls a decade back about 2 blocks from my house for a free show too in North Tonawanda NY
I always loved primus intro. Primus is very unique. Like cap beef or norwegian virus
I remember the first episode and immediately recognizing Primus. I thought "dude, this sounds like Primus. DID THEY RIP THEM OFF?" and then realizing it was actually Primus at the end. Legendary.
Lets just take a moment to appreciate the fact that we were all alive to witness this time in history.

Never knew he was playing a resonator on here until now. I love them myself. Have a Galveston. I love the subtle but obvious tin sound trouble with the rich full dreadnought sound they also provide at the same time. Easily my favorite acoustic that isn't a cut away jazz fusion.

This is so bitterweet. Like, I love it so much, but I was meant to be seeing Primus in the UK in 2 weeks but they've had to cancel the European tour. Hopefully another time.
I feel as though a lot of the inspiration for the early episodes, and the animation was from Primus. Especially the character Jimbo, Ned, and the Mexican Scaring Frog of Southern Sri Lanka.
