Thanks for posting this, albeit nearly 7 years ago. I suspect the issue might be the cassette isn't held square along its length and subject to torsional or twisting forces which is causing the problem. The way around this would be to site the cassette onto its mounting and then pack out with shims or washers so that when tightened down, there is no twisting on the casette itself. That said, I am looking at an awning for my mother and one issue with Primrose is that they use recommended installers and at a guess, if it went wrong, perhaps they would blame the installer and the installer would blame the product and there you are, the customer . . . piggy in the middle. I think we will go for a supplier who also installs and then if there's a problem, we will know who to complain to!!!

I have also had issues with my awning it creases when winding in the arm push against each other i adjust them so they miss but then the arm hangs down well below awning when closed, I am about to replace it with a 3rd one this weekend I will let you know how i get on. I have asked if they have a fitter who could fit it for me at their cost but they say they don't have any.

The only time that I have seen this is when the awning was bent causing the arm to lock?
