    This time I disagree. In my opinion Movistar tactics almost cost the stage, uphill there is not much draft to benefit from and this wait and attack game is often slower than steady pacing, the gap wasn't that big. I completely understand Elisonde. They should have wait at least to the top of croix de la fer, so one can relax in chasers group. And why Muhlberger didn't mark Elisonde downhill? Also Roglic didn't care about breakaway riders at the line in the past, so why should he care for Verona?

  • @ktakashismith

    @ktakashismith

    2 жыл бұрын

    Roglic doesn't care about breakaway riders at the line? You sure about that? Gino Mäder, Paris Nice stage 7 2021, look it up, it's the stuff of legend. Also Movistar's tactics were spot on - work over Ellisonde, piss him off, get him to burn energy descending and angry-pacing the valley, then drop him like a stone at the base of Alpe d'Huez. Played him like a fiddle, won the stage.

  • @permerte5118

    @permerte5118

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@ktakashismith Exactly what I said. Roglic doesn't care. He always wants to win, no matter if he takes the win from a breakaway rider away. And I had Mäder in mind, so I don't know what you re trying to say. If GC-group have paced harder and earlier (only FDJ set a lower tempo at last climb), Verona wouldn't have won anything. And I doubt that, Elissonde didn't burn himself, he took more risks, there was no flat after Croix de Fer and Verona was just better uphill.
