I’m rather surprised to see your Uncle Sam looking the same as he did when I was crafting in the 1970’s. I figured by now he’d have changed to a more updated look! Just proves that prim will always be prim!

@@countrycharmbytracy Are you familiar with decorative painters such at Pat Olson, Roz Stallcup, Sandra Malone, JoSonya,Andy Jones,Priscilla Hauser, Sue Schewee, Debby Harris,Pat Wakefield, and so many more! I can’t even name them all! I learned from Priscilla Hauser and JoSonya books, back in the 60’s and 70’s. Prior to then, I was a Rosemahler, painting in oils., which I learned in high school. Yeah, I am that old! Don’t paint much any more. Too shaky!

Uncle Sam is adorable! I hope this does not make you mad, that it gives you a laugh instead...the first flag, with the small stripes- When I looked at it all I could see was cooked bacon on a tray. 😜I think version 2 came out perfect. The jars are a great way to have the same pieces out all year and easily switch them up to go with the season. I finally got some of the curlers. Now they have a use thanks to your inspiration.

That is a great idea w the scrapbooking paper inside the jars…they look amazing!!! ☺️

I left without commenting and watched Linda's video. But I'm back to watch yours again because I love your style and wanted to see it a 2nd time. Each of these DIY'S are so beautiful. I just started to try your squiggle lines in some of my bee projects. I'm so pleased how they turned out. IDK seems they look more alive more exciting and certainly more colorful. Thanks for all that you do I know I love all the Xtra's you put into your projects. I'm really loving your Uncle Sam and think I'm gonna try it but on foam board, it's all I have.

I love your flag in the frame but when you switched to the other fabric, it seemed you lost all your beautiful crackle underneath. Personally, I would stay with the thinner stripes but maybe use a solid red with the white being the crackle underneath. I lost it when you said how those thin stripes looked like bacon. It really did. I could not unsee that once you said it. 😁. Thanks for leaving that in. Love all the inspiration.

It does take a little practice but there is also clips and tools that help hold larger amounts of ribbon.

Sure thing...this white sign with distressed frame measures 11.8" x 15.75" - kind of an odd size but it gives you an idea. :).

I did share in the video that I used mod podge and instant coffee. No specific recipe in this video. I just dabbed (or brushed on) mod podge and sprinkle, rubbed on instant coffee to the old glory flag and firecrackers. I hope that helps.
