This documentary presents the natural beauty of the shifting sand dunes of the Curonian Spit, the romantic beaches of the Latvian Baltic Sea and the island worlds of Estonia. Time and again, this deserted and almost untouched nature fascinates. In the winter, ringed seals give birth to their young on the pack ice. In the spring, Konik wild horse stallions fight fierce battles amongst themselves, while colourful European rollers fly through the dune forests. Lynxes wander through the coastal forests and in the orchid meadows turncoats and hoopoes find more than enough food. On the islands around Saaremaa in Estonia, grey seals hunt for fish. They share the archipelago with Europe’s largest tern, the Caspian tern.

It littleraly took my breath away, I had to go to work but couldn't take my eyes off this! Absolutely incredible ! Wonder when man is going to exploit, pollute and wipe out the wildlife

Estonia is my birth country. Nature everywhere is beautiful. I wish people would cherish the planet and the biodiversity it provides. We are part of the whole nature, small part of it, yet we act like kings of the hill.

There is a body of people that will "cherish the planet and the biodiversity it provides", called "meek" ones. Please allow me to explain. In the Bible, at Psalms 37, after the destruction of those who are have no real interest in taking care of the earth nor genuine love for people, in which verse 10 says: "Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were, and they will not be there", at verse 11, it says: "But the meek will possess the earth, and they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace", with verse 29 telling how long they will "possess the earth......in abundance of peace" as being "forever". But who are these "meek" ones ? They are the ones that have become humble, teachable by God, who name is Jehovah, who listen to him (see Isa 12:2, KJV), the ones that will "inherit the earth" and enjoy its fruitage, its beauty, it wonderfulness, in perfect peace, security, health, love and weather.(Matt 5:5; Mark 4:35-39) At Revelation 21, it says concerning this promise: "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look ! The tent of God is with mankind (on the earth), and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them (by means of his spirit). And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain (of heart, such as deep sadness from loss of loved ones, chronic health problems, a divided family, war such as the Russia-Ukraine war, etc) be anymore. The former things have passed away. And the One seated on the throne (Jehovah God) said: “Look ! I am making all things new (as the earth was before the rebellion in the garden of Eden, before sin and death was introduced, see Gen 3:1-6).” Also he says: “Write, for these words are faithful and true."(Rev 21:3-5) This will be accomplished by means of a heavenly government called God's Kingdom, whereby those who pray the "Lord's Prayer" at Matthew 6, is asking for this to be done, transforming the earth into a paradise once the wicked are removed.(see Luke 23:43)

First time seeing this part of the world- being raised in the US- just a dash country centric I had to look up where the Baltic Sea is- but I found it and this was a wonderful view of the beauty and the amazing animals that live there. Thank-you so very much the video and the narration were both delightful. Just loved it and very calming as well.

Estonia and Latvia have low populations and large areas of Nature that has not been developed,ideal for wildlife of all types to flourish. The Narrator was well versed and knowledgeable as this Documentary was presented.

The narrator has a script it’s other people that have the knowledge he just reads what they wrote down for him , that’s not to put the narrator down he did a great job very good voice and accent for it - I’m British so I prefer brit accents for wildlife docs, similar to David Attenborough

@@languagetech2675 Thank you for responding. I am sorry to hear that the two countries mentioned have to cut into their Virgin Forests. I hope there is enough people in these countries who do not want the Old Growth all cut down. The United States for the past 50 years has logged off the best trees for lumber and sold them to Asia. China and Japan logged their most valuable trees hundreds of years ago, they are very old cultures. The demand and money made in exported timber is the Reason, take care.

I live in Lithuania and nice to see this doc starts with our country Curonia Spit, but this is not what it was like 35-40 years ago. Back than when I was a kid we spent there countless summer days and sand dunes where like Sahara or smth., no grass like these days, pure sand. It changed a lot.

@@njabulokhazi4553 Since 2013 scientists from Vilnius University are studying movement and erosion of these sands. Biggest impact comes from tourism, from human impact like woodworking/cutting trees which stops winds, climate change - we got stronger and stronger winds blowing from the Baltic Sea side. All together makes me think soon or later Curonian Spit might disappear.

Butterfly orchid? We have a nicer name for the flower, we know it's in the same family as orchids, but we call it - literal translation would be - the night violin, because it smells most beautifully after dark.

Where are the Owls? Is the photo of big brown owl just a showpiece? I kept looking, finally maybe 1 minute of owl flying. Disappointing. Though you docs are exceptionally well done. The quality of the cinematography amazing.
