When will online, casual fans understand that Ozil is one of the most overrated player in modern times. Comparing him to a great like Modric is sacrilege, Modric is top 5 greatest midfielders ever, Ozil isn't even top 20.

Nope stats are all that matter. What you see visually is open to your own biases and interpretation. Stats aren’t(well technically they are but not to anywhere near the same extent as just watching games, stats eliminated as much bias as possible comparatively). This is the concept of moneyball. At the end of the day the only cold hard truth about a player’s abilities are the numbers he puts up. Everything else is subjective.

Ozil played in the PL at the same time as De Bruyne (he is only a couple years older than KDB) at no point do I EVER remember anyone saying Ozil is better than KDB. No. I love all three but if you’re saying Modric is 1st bc he is doing it deep into his 30s you’re completely ignoring that he didn’t start being world class until late I tie his 20s/early 30s. He was literally voted worst signing in La Liga his first year……so that whole argument is dead. Prime Özil paved the road for KDB… who also by the way had a slow start to his career.. not making it happen at Chelsea and then going to the Bundesliga. As soon as he was given an opportunity at Wolfsburg in the 2014/15 season he was fantastic ! Plus he was 23 at the time which is still fairly young. Then as we know he went to City and he's been world class for almost 8 years now. It's phenomonel. He's literally dominated English football. Using the argument "Modric was voted worst la liga signing" is also a pretty poor point. That's one season almost 10 years ago now. Since then Modric has been superb for Real Madrid. Having won countless Champions Leagues and La liga titles. Even his performances for Croatia are just out of this world. He's carried them to both a world cup final and a world cup semi-final whilst winning the golden ball in one of those competitions. For him to do that for a country like Croatia is nothing short of remarkable. Bro he's even won a Ballon D'oor FFS ! Ozil was class in his prime. World class. But bro he fell of so early in comparison to both KDB and Modric. Ozil was joining the Turkish League at age 32 whilst being a part time fortnite streamer. He's clearly the weakest of the 3.

If you watch ball you would see in the 2018 World Cup he carried his team he might not have the best numbers but he is always involved in the game making decisive passes to cut opposition defences. Look against Chelsea in the ucl he provided that assist for Rodrygo and brought Madrid back into the game. KDB- 156 goals + 216 assists (625 app.) ozil- 126 goals + 258 assists (728 app.) That means KDB has to produce 42 assists in 103 games to level it up (ozil is playing for Basakeshir FK now after Fenerbahce, but he is not getting anything , just got 9 goals and 3 assists in 3 years since leaving arsenal , so lets round up, that KDB needs 50 assists in 100 games ), and i guess that's an easy job for him to do . As an Arsenal fan, KDB is better, I love özil but KDB has simular offensive output whilst being a way better presser of the ball and more solid in non offensive areas, while modric plays even deeper and runs the tempo of an game. Özil however played more beautiful football at his peak than both although all three have had periods of world class just a shame Özils was shorter

Since Ozil left arsenal, they haven’t played in the CL

Ozil was great Di Maria replaced him seamlessly, Di Maria was great James replaced him seamlessly. James was great Modric replaced him seamlessly. Modric played the whole time.

Best ever playmaker ? What you smokin ? You can argue he's the best CAM but not playmaker. Playmaker includes all players that create a lot with the ball and he might not be even in top5 when players like Xavi, Zidane, Iniesta, Zico, Bergkamp, Figo, Maradona, Pele, Platini and Messi come in.

I started supporting Arsenal because of ozils signing and i fucking hated the forwards we had Walcott who was always injured, Giroud for all he has achieved now, then he was a fucking lamp post, the number of chances Ozil created and the fuck all players they had around who would always miss and still managed to be record holder was insane. And then we had this media comparing him David Silva and kdb like seriously 😒

That means ozil had the team he was playing for was dependent on ozil being ozil. And when ozil wasn't being ozil the whole fans turned on him. That man was a gentleman of the sport.

Modric can change the tempo of the whole game in a second, because of him Real Madrid are who they are

More to do with having a bale who could give the team an extra factor when Ronaldo had an off day. Ronaldo only ever performed well in one CL final for Madrid in 2017. In 2016, 2014 and 2018 bale was the more threat for Madrid.

IDK who is prime KDB because KDB has never actually staged in terms of form, he always performs so it's pretty clear who is better, ozil was most probably better than him in Madrid but he is definitely not the greatest midfielder in the PL as it is a title only made for KDB , but the most interesting thing is ozil got running at Bremen and KDB revived himself in Bremen so Bremen can say they once had ozil and KDB , different times but same quality..😌😌

KDB got so many assists without a proper striker for the last 4 years and now that he has one he is already at 15 assists.

As a 10 Özil As an 8 Modric As sort of a hybrid 10/9/7 KDB all play great in very different systems

Although I think as an overall player modric is better than Ozil, I disagree they won la decima becuase of him. Modric was bought for the 2013 season and they got thrashed by Dortmund. Modric really struggled in his first season. What helped Madrid win the CL was having Bale. He was that extra kick they needed. I think if ozil stayed and they didn't buy modric they could have still won the CL. Bale was massive for them. Modric helped Madrid change the way they played. People shouldn't downplay how good ozil was. Even in 2010 world cup he was unbelievable.

to me özil wil always be better just by watching how seemingly he can switch from defense to offense, and how brilliant his game sense was
