I have been waiting since the 90s for THIS reticle. Now that my eyes are old, I especially appreciate this newer lines of optics. When I was 25 the iron sights seemed to work so much better.
Believe it or not, I really enjoyed this video. Some might find vids like this boring, but whenever I can learn something, you have my undivided attention. Thank you for sharing and bringing us the information from the source. The presentation made it quite easy to follow.

Even more important I think that if you plan on using this system you need to know it, not just have a basic understanding but really know it before you take it out. That might just be the military in me but I wont take anything and put it on my rifle unless I know without a doubt how to use the system inside and out. This vid went a long way in understanding the finer uses of this optic unit.
I'm a n00b when it comes to optics. This video finally made the ACSS reticle make sense to me.

Love this reticle. All day long with this. I’m at a point where I keep building new rifles but keep using the same sights over and over again. It’s at a point where I have the same rifle basically.
This is a fantastic video and once people catch on to it, sales is going to go through the roof. Thank you very much for taking the time to explain this reticule.
This is the most innovative BDC/reticle that has come out in modern times. It is almost the combination of PSO and ACOG's with some Elcan reticles, with great fast acquisition. I'd say Eotechs for up to 400 yards, and ACSS for medium to long range are the best.

Slytiger Survival it's like an advanced PSO indeed
Standard ACOG Reticule! My version 1-6x24 ACSS has what I believe is this chevron, with no horseshoe; along with the standing silhouette limited to 600yds. Apparently all ACSS reticules within a line of PA scopes of the same magnification range are not made equal. My PA FFP ACSS HUD DMR 4-14x40 is choke full of valuable characteristics. Love it as well. Thanks Dmitri may you live long and prosper.
Wow best ever walkthrough of a reticle, great information and I really enjoyed this.
Going back and watching these videos. I miss your pup. Sad day
I'm just starting to get into scopes and had questions about the different reticles. I understood this explanation completely and I know nothing about mils. Really enjoyed the video and will most likely get something with this reticle. Thanks for taking the time to put this video out.

I love this reticle. I learned new things this l scope could do. Didn't know that the hold lines could be used to range prone targets. Awesome.
Mike, Not boring at all. Very informative and well explained, even for a non mil savvy shooter. More apt to purchase one now with my understanding from this video. Thanks to you and Dimitri.

I just got an ACOG with the ACSS and it's so hard to see that I'm amazed you can differentiate between the tip of the chevron and the bottom of it. This was a great video, btw.
I'm definitely showing this one to my son, when he gets home from high school today. We usually watch these videos together, but school started up again today, so I will save it out for him to see.

I still prefer my standard Trijicon Chevron reticle for my 4x ACOG, just got it with the dual-illuminated green (my younger eyes preferred the red, but i'm older now). IF I can ever afford a second ACOG, i'll try this ACSS. It's well-designed, makes sense, and seemingly easy to use for reticle ranging. Thanks for the informative video.
seen it up for sale a month ago and couldn't believe it. great video and killer scope!

thank you for this video.. it is a good cear explanation of how the ACSS was designed to be used.. once folks own one.. (I own 2) if they have issue with inderstanding it.. this should be the go to video for clarification. folks need to understand.. the ACSS is a complete system.. almost as if.. if they know mil dot , they will recognised that the math is done.. they just need to use the multiple ranging scales.. and this video explains how.. very nicely. Its scaled.. just zero @ 100 tip of chevron... done!

Everyone new and experienced shooters should use this the fact you can slap this on go to range and be able to hit with the first shot makes this an incredible optic hands down

The humility and genuine attitude of [Dimitri??] this guy just sold him some primary arms optics with the ACSS reticle.
Outstanding Video. Can u drop a link if available for the site that he mentioned the ballistics calculator they supplied for this optic? Thanks
I run the 1-6 on my 3gun rifle. Didn't want to drop $1k+ on better glass, and now I don't think i'd shoot any scope without the ACSS. Having no prior mil/moa training I was able to learn the ACSS with no old habits, very easy to pick up.

This is by far the best scope with BDC and range estimation and windage, all-in-one just wish I had the money to get One for every rifle that I own because my old eyes can't see is good as they used to
@Mrgunsngear
9 жыл бұрын
David hamblin they come in all different price points.
I like the illuminated horseshoe/chevron with a non-illuminated ladder but I wasn't been able to get Primary Arms to feature or offer that option that on all their ACSS optics, and I don't know why cause everybody I talk to wants that as well.
Wish they'd include this reticle in their accupower 1-4. I love the BDC segmented circle, but I think this would be even more useful.

If I had the money I would. However, I do have some info on the tritium in the ACOG. I bought mine about 8 years ago. I had it off my rifle for several years. When I put it back on I tested the tritium in a dark room, I was having a hard time seeing it. It had dimmed and I think my eyes are getting old. So I sent it to Trijicon. They sent an email saying that it was the normal brightness for it's age and therefore would not replace under warranty. I called them to ask how they determine brightness and if I could expect only (in my case 8 years) of serviceable life. Since it would cost $188 to correct plus $23 to ship with insurance every 8 years, I was trying to figure out if this was still the best sight for me. After talking to the guy for about 15 minutes, he changed my return to a warranty. I was not looking for him to do that, I was just trying to understand. That is excellent customer service and has made me even more convinced that the ACOG was worth the large amount of money that I paid...
I've been unhappy with some Primary arms stuff in the past...I know they've done a lot lately to increase their durability. I might have to check them out again in the future. I sure like the idea of that 1-8 ACSS for my M1A.

I think the ret is great. The market is showing a demand for this ret in higher quality optics. I'd say thats reflected in this acog and the new PA 1-8, and the steep price disparture. I wouldn't say their other optics are poor quality, but there's only so much quality you can pack into $200-$300 glass.

great vid. is there a use for the red horse shoe? is it to just draw your eye in or is it calibrated for someone walking???
@Mrgunsngear
9 жыл бұрын
Ev l yes.
Does this assume that you are ranging a target at 1 power? or are we zooming in until a target meets the numbered hash marks?
I'm building a 6.5 Grendel DMR type rifle. Which primary arms variable magnification should I get in the $230 to $300 range? I already have a 14.5 inch middy so I'm not too worried about close range work with this one.
Unfortunately PA is currently out of stock. Bummer... I should be getting an email once it comes back in stock but I'm getting the 1911 bug (Springfield TRP Operator) so I hope the timing works out haha.

My question is what would your hold point be with the wind coming straight towoards you or from behind, and quartering wind coming at you or from behind. Or an easier way of asking, if you have a 5mph cross wind, how does that calculate into a 5mph quartering wind from either direction (front and back)?
@workingguy6666
2 жыл бұрын
You are looking for a sniper scope - not a simple combat scope. You have valid questions for a $2,500 optic, but this isn't it.
Question the 8.6 mph dots to lead a target how many inches are the black dots from the top of chevron ? It would be nice also if Primary Arms would show the whole reticle distance like top of chevron to 400 yard has how many MOA is it ?
they make this with a reticle calibrated for 7.62x39 which I plan on putting on my LAR47 X1. Just wonder if the 18" barrel will cause it to be off by too much to truly be beneficial.
@Mrgunsngear
9 жыл бұрын
cuzimaluzer777 they have one. It's won't matter in that caliber
Which barrel length is this reticle designed for? Would it be zeroed and still accurate for a 20 inch barrel?
