Same here. Back then clod buster was king. I also had a midnight pumpkin and a grasshopper. Good times.

As a plane guy I'm surprised these haven't been popular earlier....crazy quarter scale planes in various kit forms have been around for looong time, but this is the biggest baddest truck I've seen!

once my money gets right i will be getting one of these monsters i have 6 1/5 scale atm .. i use to own a Rampage , but going threw the break in period it had some major problems .. this truck seems to be built very good .. for a big truck like this i don't care for speed i just want power .toughest .

my instructor in school had a prius, and he was like a damn near 7 foot tall british man and he fit in it, and he always had a shit ton of things stuffed in the back of it.. ever practical toyota!

hey man, totally agree. The prius gets alot of hate because of it's extremely aerodynamic shape, usually by idiots that know nothing about cars other than a BMW is good. lol. Well I get over 50 MPG at all times even with the AC on and a huge load of RCs in the back, ahahah. Thanks for watching.

I totally agree with ya, this car does 100% of what it claims to do, whats the issue with that?? I also drive 2 different American V8 cars, so I'm not really an eco freak. I just appreciate cars that do exactly what they are supposed to do, you know. It's like a v6 mustang from the 2000's, body understands them, but they were cheap and moderate sporty looking cars, they did what they had to. Real Car guys like us can appreciate the tech in each car no matter what.

Im seeing many a comment on "way to heavy for me, it's got no power, throw a big brushless motor in there," etc. etc.. Guys, it's a monster truck, not an on road car, if you get it to really haul ass, you're gonna end up sending it off a 8ft jump and then pick up all the pieces from the aftermath of crashing it. Let Hybrid mess around with it for a few days, then let him give his thoughts on it. He calls em how he sees them, which is why I will listen to what he says, it's his genuine commentary and honest opinions that I respect. Like when you were talking about the redcat gears that are almost 10 percent of the value of the car. That is ridiculous if your still reading this your certified, Thnx

hey my dude!! Really love your comment!! You're 100% on point since you support me, ahahaha. And ye, those redcat gears and parts are nuts, an aluminum diff mount set for one costs about 90 bucks, so it's more than 10% of the entire car, not worth it. What matters most about this RC is how unique it is compared to any RC on the market now, More detail on this in the next video. It will literally blow you away when you see it. It's a genius mechanical piece of engineering. Think about it, Reverse, installed kill switch, chain drive, all metal everywhere, solid axles, ETC

hey my dude!! This is my #1 most popular video, it's hit over 1 Million views so far. This is when I was at my top 1/5 gas RC high, lol!! This location is about 55 miles from my house. This means I can get there and back while using usually less than 2 gallons of fuel driving my prius. I even wore a damn white shirt for this!!! LOL. The only thing I forgot to do was to ask the designer and owner of Primal RC to drive the truck over me. thats was my initial plan. I eventually did it myself.

I know right, the brakes are so strong on this. Too good, for sure!!! but not too good to be true. LOL. So after seeing this in person I don't know how I will be able to actually hold it on myself and do a pull up at the same time. You have any idea? Unless I just remove the wheels and attach them somehow separately on myself.

hey bro! Yup, this is the only video of mine that has this many views, pretty surprising because the others are quite awesome too. LOL. It's all about the youtube algorithm I guess and the thumbnails, I guess this one appeals to a very large audience meanwhile the unboxing and driving of this car appeals to a much narrower group.

ahah, you're probably almost right, I'd say my prius is worth around 3K in it's current condition, due to the terrible pain on one side. But if you really think about it, My prius already paid itself off about 3 years ago based on fuel economy savings alone. So It's actually paying me to drive it right now, compared to any other basic 4-cyl car which would take around 50% more fuel in my style of city driving.

I also have 2 V8 sedans btw, I just appreciate the prius for what it is, its reliable and extremely cheap to run. Also we now know that it can fit a whole load of 5th scales Rcs in the back and get 55 MPG.

whats up man!!! I tried my best to get this pickup video out today, and I did it!!! Thanks to DAN at Primal RC we all got some cool footage of me driving one of them. That was actually his personal one, mine was still in the box. What matters is that my PRIUS got 55 MPG, ahahaha. More MPG for me, means more money for RC!!!

and honestly a true car tech guy can appreciate a prius for what it is. Lets face it, any BMW or BENZ is really no diff than any Nissan Altima. ITs just an internal combustion engine, big deal. The prius has a complete spear cooling system just for the hybrid generator, and can run the AC with the gas engine off.

hey dude!! thanks for watching. Some owners have installed dual shocks on this, you're right . To be honest with you, it dos not need dual shocks. The weight of the chassis is already sprung well enough, the extra shocks would make it too stiff. Unless you just add the dampeners without the springs.

Compared to a LOSI 5T which needs a radio and pipe along with many metal upgrades right away, this is actually a bargain.

@@hybrid32494 Dude, you have to design a snow plow for that truck. I bet that could actually get some snow removal work done very nicely. The plow frame would have to be really strong. I've been studying pics of the Raminator and it doesn't look like there's a whole lot to support a plow frame... but I'm sure it can be done. I plow with my Clodbuster... but the Raminator would be much better!

hey man!! Maybe in the future a 2-speed will come out, I would not be surprised if it did. But honestly this thing has the ability to his 30 MPH with the included extra gears, which is pretty good. Thats faster than the original HPI baja when it first came out.

The thing i hate about the primal mt is the single speed transmission, for 3 thousand dollars come on.. Could you use a 2 speed off eBay?? I found a 2 speed transmission for my Losi DBXL.

hey man, thanks for watching. I guess you could say a 2-speed would have ben useful, I cannot disagree. But they did include a real transfer case and a reverse system. In terms of speed you could install the speed gear set and it will hit 30 MPH. So the speed is more than adequate if thats the goal. Bro, check out my other vids, I drove this thing over myself.

I'd rather have EITHER of those 1/5's than the Prius lol Give me an RC and I'll get you some good video content! ;)

For me I only care about if the car does what it was made to do. The Prius's purpose is only fuel economy, and it gets that. Therefore I am happy. I'm not your typical ME-TOO car guy my dude!! Have you seen my newer videos where I drove this truck over myself...

All show & no go. Nice look'n but too slow for my taste plus 80 pounds...imo to heavy. I'm hitting 70 mph 4½ horses in my 1:8 truggy on only 4s castle sensored MMX and 135 mph calculated on 6s 23 pinion 44 spur. Sure a proper breakin will help that truck little but that weight is just too much for any rc imo...again just my thoughts.. good shit!

@@u1es 1:5 scale typically means its 1:5 the size of it original/ real counterpart which I see where your goin with this already before you even finish. You'll claim not all 1:5 scales are gonna be the same because they mimic different vehicles from trucks to buggys to monster trucks to cars which their real life counterparts are never the same size of course trucks are bigger than cars hense the size difference in our models. Example: a monster truck is much bigger than a car so our 1:5 scale models of the 2 are of course gonna be different in size...which is true. But...that's not my point in trying to make I'm simply stating that 2 different RC manufacturers say make the 1:5 scale grave digger which in real life all the real grave diggers are the same exact size BUT our 2 RC 1:5 scale RC manufacturer's will indeed come out with 2 1:5 scale diggers and both will not be nowhere close in size..height..weight..hell even tire sizes probably different. That's all!!

Now sure I've been only in the hobby for little o er 2 years minus my 2000 to 2002 HPI nitro cars which I dont count..back than HPI was king next to losi. Only 2 year but I've managed to take a tlr-22 buggy and turn it into something beautiful especially with its orion ultimate stock motor which orion was gracious enough to send me a second motor for free as a back up for my buggy..more on that in another story..lol stories not replies I seem to be leaving lol. But my second build is a basher sabertooth which is a very solid platform more solid than any arrma I've ran across bot to puss off any arrma fans and I'm sure to get backlash on that comment but were all in this together and your build is only as strong as YOU make it..why they say stock shit stank!!! Gotta go custom with everything. Stock is just a blank canvas waiting for an artist to do their thing. So in the end their all strong awesome builds. But in 2 years I've managed to take this 41mph budget tough ass truggy if you seen some of the skate park 30 foot jumps landing on all 4's over and over and over for 35 40 minutes starting witho6so much as a bent screw and turn it into a sensored mamba monster x 6s 23t pinion 44t spur 135 mph beast running less than 1.5 volts ripple only on those 90°+ days. Now I've never ran 6s YET I've only ran 4s two gens ace rc 2s 100c lipos with a 19t 44t spur and achieved 70mph on a very short curved subdivision road. Have yet to take it somewhere larger. My 135mph config has co.e from an rc gear speed app which I know what some of you are already thinking but I'm here to tell you in the over 2 years steadily using this app it's only been wrong twice and that was from me not knowing the builds true final driveline ratio. It was off both times by 2 mph. I've never seen anything in my 41 years be so accurate its scary. In order for the app to work you need to key in input such as motor kv lipo cell count it gives you a laundry list of vehicles to choose from to least give you the final gear ratio motor pinion and spur count final gear ratio tire size truck weight is optional feel I'm missing a couple others but you get the pic. It's just simply amazing at how accurate this app has always been it doesn't account for motor timing and wind calculations which not expected. When I achieved my 70 mph I ran 0° motor and 0° each timing and full on torque punch & motor power % output as always I run nothing but 0° timing. Will add with the castle 1515 1:8 sensored motor and sensored mamba monster x running timing turns an already beast into a wild untamed monster. I'm running SRC ROADCRUSHERS to achieve these speeds next season I will run 6s with the 23 t pinion on camera using the garmin forerunner 101 as my trusted speed clock and I will post it asap. The roadcrushers hold up better than any tire I have ever seen far past my expectations their kevlar belted to prevent ballooning at high speeds and even though I dont need new set yet I'm gonna pick up a new set this winter for this run. To all my RC friends wish me luck next season on this speed run...hell I might play around with some motor & esc timing. Sorry for the novel lol

whats up man!! I actually had the hood painted at MACCO a few years ago, it rusted within 4 months. Since then I just gave up, was a waste of money. Only MPG's matter now, ahahah.

hybrid32494 That’s too big man...... you hit anyone you will get sued lol...... you can kill people with that car man...... I pulled off a 63.3 mph run earlier today with my Traxxas Slash 4WD act. Velinion vxl 3500 KV 4 Pole 1/10th system on 19 pinion 54 spur regular mod 0.8 gears. I’ve actually maxed 64.1 mph on it before.

Truck is awesome!! Can’t handle this guy.

thanks man!! It's finally mine, but I really considerer this being everyone's RC who watched me, I do this for all of us.

You obviously don't know that much about R/C cars and trucks because this company is good but it's not really the true original first company to do this. Have you ever heard of newera RC because they started the quarter scale RC trucks and cars. Saidly they didn't make it through the great down fall of the housing development scandal loans passings and fraud. The went bankrupt because of that, I know because I was one of many people who bought their products that made the gas two stroke engines for RC cars and trucks dragsters stock cars monster trucks and stadium trucks along with other associated parts... Best part of them was the quick change rear end...

You can't go wrong with a Gas Rovan Baja, cheapest way to get into 1/5 RCs, and learn about them, plus they have terrific resale value. Here to help man, any questions, I got you!

Also yeah about the shredder, it used to come with plastic spur and other gears and people would say in vids i watched and comments i read that the spurs would be the first thing needing to be replaced so i feared that because in this pandemic it seems the 49t spur gear is sold out evvverywhere but to my luck they now install metal spur in shredder i was really happy to see that when i got about 3 weeks ago now. and so far everything is solid in this, no weak points have broke, but then again i actually baby this thing because after spending the money i dont want to break it, so i dont really like bash it or anything,,i simply have alot of fun just ripppping it back an forth the long driveway here at what seems to be like 40mph its so god dayyyuumm fast lol, and shreddddds the living shit out of the dirt driveway as well i love it :), but yeah this shredder was the cheapest 5th scale on the net i could find so im pretty surprised that everything in it is pretty solid and tough honestly,very satisfied. Also i have put 7200 80c Zeeee lipos in it and they last me a good bit of time.

Hey dude! Lol yep!! I have made the brakes less sensitive on my own one, they no longer want to lock up the rotors completely. All i had to do was set the epa end points and the thing is awesome now.
