In my community, we usually pierce the ears when they are one year old. It's just like taking a vaccine shot. Pain is only for a few minutes. It is our tradition. It is an important acupuncture point. It is why we pierce our noses and ears. Also doing it early means not much pain later on since the skin will thicken as we grow, making it more painful to pierce. I am so glad they did it for me as a baby. I don't have any memory of it.

Get out. This is our tradition. The ears are an important acupuncture point. Get an education first. Vaccine shots are also given to children the minute they are born. The child screams in pain. Can we think oh no child is in pain let's not vaccinate it? Nonsense.

@@btsarmyforever3816 Vaccination needle is much more smaller than this! And vaccination has some health benefits. Not this! You will feel its just a small pain. Try experiencing it yourself as an adult.

@@DeepaGeorge I already said it's an acupuncture point! Ofc it has health benefits! And the needle depends on the Aasari (The person who pierces it) it can be very thin too. I have both my ears and my nose pierced. The problem in the video is they pierced the child a bit grown up. You are supposed to pierce the child when they are one year old. My ears were pierced when I was one year old. I have no memory of it. I pierced my nose when I was 20yrs old. The pain was sharp and lasted just for few min. But the pain is worth it when there is a beautiful nosepin. Also it is our tradition. Our beauty standard. Even men pierce their ears and wear kadukan. Every culture has it's own traditions. We don't need ghastly western culture to dictate how we should look or what we should pray to. We don't dictate what westerners do but it seems westerns and ppl who follow western culture always force it on other cultures.
