It takes 1 years of feeding a mare and vet bills to get the mare bred and producing a baby. Then 2 years of feeding the baby and having vet bills and farrier bills on that baby before the baby reaches 2 when the training can begin. So you have spent money for 3 years before that baby is ready to be trained.
Then you are going to spend hours and hours doing groundwork and then riding and training before the horse is sellable. We train trail horses so we have the added expense of taking this baby to the woods and giving them trail experience before they are offered for sale.
You are paying for the hours is training this horse is going to have.
There are only 3 ways to get a well trained horse. You will buy it trained and pay for the training at the end, buy the horse and have it trained by paying a monthly fee or train it yourself.
