PREY MOVIE REACTION & REVIEW | PREDATOR | (THIS MOVIE WAS EPIC!!!!) *EMOTIONAL ENDING*

Ойын-сауық

I wasn't sure what to expect with this film! I was honestly so impressed watching Prey, it was something special. This was my first time really watching any of the Predator movies and I have to say this one has made me a fan of the movie. I will be watching the others in the near future. The cinematography was gorgeous! The fight sequences were awesome and the spirit of the film was felt throughout. Everything really came together with this movie and our main character really did her thing. Beautiful story and beautiful message. Never give up, keep moving forward and believe in yourself even when everyone else underestimates you.
Comanche tribe was beautifully represented. Beautiful landscapes.

It’s great, the CG animals and some of the blood look a bit funny but other than that the effects look great, the acting is great and the setting is cool. It’s my favorite of the series right now, I still love the original it’s fun and endlessly quotable but this plays out more serious. The French-Canadian hunters killed the buffalo’s, white people nearly hunted them to extinction as they where the natives source for meat and furs. They would as shown here kill them take the fur and just leave the carcasses lying on the prairie. I heard about this decades ago the first time, funny enough when I read Jiro Taniguchi’s “Sky Hawk” a few months back the manga had a similar scene that brought the memory back. The Predator is a cool movie monster because he has rules. He wants to hunt dangerous prey and he has certain rules, it makes for an interesting set up.

It's got a full Comanche dub on Hulu too! (Even the French guys are overdubbed in Comanche ... or at least that translator guy who was speaking English.) The original scriptwriter wanted the whole movie to be in Comanche. Unsurprisingly the studio said no to that, but at the last minute they requested the Comanche dub. They put it together in the last 4 months (April to July).

Yeah I was seeing ALOT of comments about her being female was a huge disrepect to Comanche. But it took all of 3 minutes to find out tribes of that plain had no issue with female warriors, and infact they had a blanket term for them which could mean a wide range of things. A Two Spirit, which I found out means someone who doesn't follow the gender norms - ie: Tomboy. I also found that in many cases if for example a family member was killed or missing, a female can actually band up for however long they want and rally a group to command and go to war or battle for vengeance or rescue. I also found out it goes both ways, where some things that were considered female jobs would be done by some men also. So if the information is extremely easy to find, I am not sure why some people are so stuck on this being completely all wrong. From what I read it was pretty accurate. They had their norms, but did not force or kill you if you had your heart on fighting. I also found it cool that Naru whistled to summon the Predator to kill the last fur trapper. From what I read also this is bad bad news in your culture. Essentially your summoning evil spirts or bad intent when you whistle at night. If anything I said was disrepectful my bad, I live in Australia so I am a bit of an alien when it comes to the hole America and First Nations thing. But I assume its very similar to Australia with the indigenous folk here too.

The whole purpose of a Predator, especially in this movie as far as I can tell, is to hunt and kill the biggest and best "predator" of that planet, to prove themselves on their own planet. This movie highlights that more than any other Predator movie I've ever seen. It started small with the snake. Then it went to to the wolf, a much bigger and tougher adversary. Then it went to the bear, clearly a stronger, more powerful challenge. And it topped it's hunt with a human, the top "predator" of the planet. The progression of "moving up the food chain" that is displayed in this movie is absolutely outstanding.

31:02 - In the first Predator movie, initially it was intended for Arnold to go hand to hand with the predator and win, but Arnold specifically went against this saying that there was no way even someone his size and strength could take an alien almost twice his weight. So they changed that ending. It's reflected here in Prey, showing that it takes more than just strength to win.

Well the predators are a species of hunters that are dropped on different planets to hunt that planet's dangerous hunters. They hunt for sport and most of time they have a code of honor to them like they won't attack a unarmed civilian like a child or a woman whose pregnant etc. If their opponent is not using a firearm and challenging them to a fight using a sword or axe etc. then the predator with fight them using their blades too and if you either fought alongside a predator or kill one and another predator shows up and finds out they will give you one of their weapons they won from a previous hunt as sign of respect to a fellow hunter.

Naru's need to feel like she's enough is just palpable throughout the film, and is just really cathartic. You're not human if you can't feel that war cry at the end. There's tons of info and lore here on KZread and online in general, but in short, the predator species are a hunter/warrior culture who use their advanced technology to hunt the best prey in the galaxy. They don't just kill for the sake of killing, and they have rules based on honor that determine what they can and can't kill and how they can kill. For example, to kill an unarmed or trapped enemy is dishonorable, which is why predator didn't kill Naru when she was caught by the French trapper's trap. They also won't kill pregnant females or children. Younger predators go through a process where they practice hunting to continue learning to use their weapons effectively and to just generally gain experience. The ultimate goal is to become "blooded", which is to successfully hunt and kill a Xenomorph (the creatures from the Alien series). Blooded hunters hold high esteem within their culture. In terms of the realm of this film in particular, this predator really seems different from many of the others seen in other movies. The fact that he is choosing to hunt even smaller prey like snakes and wolves seems to indicate that this predator is actually a young-blood, a juvenile who is still practicing and learning. An older, more experienced predator wouldn't even bother with prey that presents almost no challenge at all and would bring too little honor upon return to his home world. Imagine flying across the galaxy to hunt, only to return home with merely a wolf skull. He would be laughed out of his clan. It also explains how he was so unaware and forgetful about how his own weapons work. Any good hunter knows, you always take into account not only what you're shooting at, but also what's behind it, before you take your shot. The fact that he shot a homing arrow at Naru without knowing for sure where his shot would ultimately land was definitely a rookie mistake, and a costly one, but Naru exploited it perfectly. So in this tale we see two young hunters. Both inexperienced. Both looking to prove themselves. It just goes to show that greater physical size, strength, and technology doesn't always win a fight. Sometimes it's determination, tenacity, and smarts that brings home the win.

WE FINALLY HAVE A GENUINELY AMAZING PREDATOR MOVIE SINCE THE FIRST ONE!!!! Don’t get me wrong, I really like Predator 2 and Predators, but this one doesn’t just beat them, it kills them, rips out their skulls and spines, and hangs them on its wall. Not only did it have intense action sequences, but both the director and writer managed to perfectly balance that tightrope of tension by both showing that this Predator is a truly terrifying and formidable threat while also not making him OP with his weaponry, thereby giving the people a fighting chance. On top of that I absolutely LOVED the portrayal of the Comanche Nation. Showing how they were and still are some of the best fighters, best horse riders and best hunters that have ever lived, while also showing how close knit of a community they are. I really loved how they went back and forth between English and Comanche when speaking with each other, next time I see this movie I’m watching the Comanche Cut where they speak Comanche throughout the whole movie. But my favorite part of this movie is seeing the story of Naru. She is honestly one of the most tenacious and badass characters I have seen in action or sci-fi movies in a long time. Predator 2 wasn't really bad, and I'm glad Prey does references to it as well as the original, but yea imo the rest of them after were trash and I feel like this is a good retcon to all that nonsense. I like that this is a more primitive predator with more primitive tech (and hunting skills). It wasn't just necessary to give the humans of that time a fighting chance, it shows growth of the species itself instead of this just stagnant apex predator alien race locked to the same tech over thousands of years (and just boring). I prefer to believe this was not just some young predator not given the right tech because it hasn't proven itself (as most seem to take from this) but rather what that species had available to them at that time in their own journey. Makes for a more compelling fiction.

@@ImonSnow 😂 don't mind me..a bully called me that once...I was so into Lord of the Rings and they hated it..so yeah.. Plus to answer your question..I believe the Yautja (these predator species) are hunters. So their culture is to travel to worlds and work their way up the food chain and battle the ultimate strongest warriors/beasts/predators and take their spines and skulls as trophies. So by their travels to these galaxies they end up enhancing their hunting skills from their "wins" and go out there again to look for another planet to hunt and use their newly gotten skills for their new hunts. When a predator is killed, his "kind" come for him..and may exchange tokens as a sign of respect and acknowledgement.

I loved this movie, somehow it reminds me of the type of story I used to watch growing up. That's all I did as a kid was watch TV, it was my escape, a way to see the world. I love the story of an underdog, that David v Goliath type of tale. I always love the character that gets overlooked, its always beautiful to see someone realize their own potential and discover just how strong they really are. This is why I love watching Movies and TV, for characters like her, she has a quiet strength about her, she's an outsider, someone I can relate to. She has a curiosity about the world, she questions things and because she won't conform to what other people want, to do what is expected of her, people look at her like she's different, and she is different, but good different, the best kind. This movie was beautifully shot, and the story moves at a thoughtful pace, I loved all those scenes of her just walking with Kima (her dog), it really gives you a chance to explore the world, I forget sometimes just how beautiful this world really is.

The Predators goal when they come to another world to hunt is to hunt the best of the best. This (Yautja) Predator is on his first hunt here, to earn respect and bragging rights and permission to rise in ranks. This boi is still learning hence why he has an arrogant and wreckless personna. Alot of haters of this film will call this Predator unrealistic to the lore, but I can tell you.. He's pretty darn accurate. They did a good job of making Naru's journey and the Yautja's journey parallel to one another. Moral of the story - Have a kickass dog, be smart and tactful and remain humble.

Imon you are Glowing ! Haven’t checked in in a while but i am a huge Predator fan & a huge you fan lol . Predator was an original idea in the jungle in the 80s . Predator 2 was the one with Danny Glover in the 90s . After that , DarkHorse Comics made the Alien vs Predator series and that turned into some Smash hit Video Game crossovers and cult following . 2004 we got AvP (Alien vs Predator) which is one of my favorite movies ever but did not get the best reviews . 2007 we got AvP : Requiem , which was received with more hate and both franchises went their separate ways in the Cinema . Predators (2010) was well received and a fresh take on the species , and the recently released “The Predator” (2017?) was KILLED by critics and Audiences alike . Disney recently acquired the 20th Century Fox catalog (Includining Alien/Aliens & Predator franchises ) So this is kind of a re Boot / Prequel and for fans of the Predator franchise it has been well received and is a smash hit so far which is really nice for long time fans and hopefully will lead to more expansion of the Lore & Universe on Screen that we have gotten only in video games & Comics previously. Glad you liked it ! i think you would like the original and some of the others in the series as well ! very proud of you , the room looks amazing as well ! 🖤🤗

The original concept of the predator came to the creators, Jim & John Thomas who, after watching "Rocky IV" took the recurring joke around that time in Hollywood that the character has run out of opponents on this planet and should box against an alien next. They developed a script initially called "Hunter". And as a fun fact, the first actor inside the Predator suit was none other than Jean-Claude Van Damme, who left production after several disagreements on his parts and the (imo, very rightfully so) decision to make the Predator so imposing, so intimidating that the audience would believe even a real-life superman like Arnie in his prime couldn't best it.

One thing people don’t realize is that historically my ancestors(I’m Lakota. I am Cheyenne river Sioux trouble and Oglala tribe)were inspiration for guerrilla tactics and even without firearms natives had the military struggling until disease was introduced. Only reason I’m saying this is because I see critics and other KZreadrs talk about Arnold and how he was more badass but yet Arnold also had to rely on camo, bow and arrows, and traps. So it’s not a surprise the biggest threat to the predator was her brother.

On that day, the predator will have devolved into a human trophy hunter.

Ask that lady that got killed by a Bison in Yellowstone over the summer. She thought they were all gonna hold hands and sing songs too. 🤦 I loved your review and reaction, it just makes me laugh sometimes watching people react to things about nature when the closest they got to animals growing up was a squirrel and pigeons in the local park. Nature is far more brutal than most anyone thinks and most people are lucky to be living in the century we're living in, let's just say that. Because if it ever collapses a lot of you are going to be dead during the first hour 🤣

this was such a breath of fresh air for the franchise. there are different classes and subclasses of the Predator speices (Yautja). this is Feral Predator. they preferred the fight more than anything, minimum tech, and weapons. Predators also evolve depending on their prey, and where theyve hunted. so since this is the 1800 century its safe to say theyve been to earth before this. thats why in Predator we get a hunter Predator with a evolved tech and weaponary. this Predator could also be a subclass called young bloods, untested, fairly new to the whole hunt. lastly when Tabai bests the predator and it cloaks what he yells in the dubbed version is, "Cheater!!" Basically Predators hunted to be the best hunters. trophies are the skulls of their prey.
