Preventing Heat Press Marks on Polyester for Sublimation

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Ever had a polyester shirt get ruined after sublimation from heat press marks? Those marks can be permanent as polyester fabric has a memory and any indentions can be hard to get out. So, let's talk about preventing heat press marks on polyester so your sublimation crafts are more professional. It is probably easier than you think! I have two methods including using pressing pillows as well as a heat-resistant foam. Follow along to see which of these will work for you!

In my view. Your best video so far! Many people are doing / trying all the tips from many KZread videos. But I am sure many watch a video then go and try it that way. I do. And we have seen many video's about the pillows etc. But we all have different machines and we have to adjust things and try again and again until it's right. But they are NOT that many video's like this that help us over come some of the problems we all get. So thank-you for this video.

Great video as always, thank you! I'm new to sublimation and noticed the marks on two shirts I did (luckily they were just for myself) so this was very helpful. I also sublimate garden flags and have the same issue with the press marks. Should I use a heat press pillow instead of the Cricut EasyPress mat? When I used to get press marks on blankets which shows even more than shirts, I would literally press the rest of the blanket and then no press marks. Years later, I found pressing pillows and Vapor foam. But even though it took extra time, it did compress all therefore making the press marks go while flattening all. Hope that makes sense.

I've made a few things so far and have gotten press lines on some. I'm still trying to figure out how long to press and temperature setting. @@AngieHolden I ordered the pressing pillows and tried them out today. I am still getting lines on my shirts. I tried adjusting the pressure of my heat press, but still got lines. The top part and the left side are where the heat press is leaving lines on my shirts. I put the two shirts in the dryer to see if that would help take out the lines, but sadly it did not. Do I need to try to calibrate the heat press by adjusting the springs on top where the pull down handle is at? I have an older model heat press that got passed down to me. The model is Homcom 15x15. If you have any suggestions on what would help me, I would gladly appreciate it!

BOO! I haven't used that model at all. It sounds like maybe the pressure is uneven if just two sides leave a mark. Can you adjust that at all? Pull up just those two sides?

@@AngieHolden It seems to be adjusting the bottom part more than the sides or the top. I tried a few more shirts a little bit ago and still getting the marks. I have lessened the pressure, then it is too loose and my design doesnt press all the way. (Some shirts have a rustic/vintage look to them now, which is kinda nice), but still has the marks. Then i tighten it back up, and same thing. I cannot find a happy medium and I am getting very frustrated with it. I am thinking of getting an Easy press maybe this weekend if I cannot get the heat press figured out.

Great video as always ... You could make a video using Easysubli paper on your EPSON printer ... my printer is the same as yours, however when I used easysubli on my printer the printing was not good, in fact it was very bad ... so my option was: First I just printed Easysubli on my shirt, and then I sublimated it on the easy paper that was on my shirt ... then it worked ... but printing directly on easysubli paper didn't work right ... if you can think about it it would be great ... thanks ... love your videos
