Preventing an Engine Fire in my Mazda RX-7

Just when I thought I fixed all the gremlins that come with every FD Mazda RX-7, I learned something new!
Due to the location of the Fuel Pulsation Damper on the FD RX-7, when they eventually go bad and leak fuel, it does so on a very hot engine, causing engine fires!
Although my damper was not bad (yet) I took the time to replace this part on my primary fuel rail, giving myself some peace of mind. At $185 for a new damper, that's cheap insurance!

Nope! But you'll have to remove the 'rats nest' solenoid rack and hoses... plus I recommend removing the Emissions devices if you're in a state that allows it. But then that opens another can of worms too. If you must keep the Emissions devices (erg etc) then pulling the fuel rail will probably be easier. But... once again, while you're in there.... 😉
