The validation which he got from Mr Morris ("...without sounding condescending...") was the validation that Mr Lewis never got from his own father, and haunted him throughout years of therapy; buying and breaking up companies, was his way of working out the anger within. This interaction with Mr Morris broght it full circle, and he was now ready for validation, and appreciated it! Coming from Mr Morris. Great scene.

Very well picturised movie, in fact, contrary to criticism that it is a kind of comedy movie,it is a drama kind of movie,parallels corporate life, corporate culture. And Gere has given excellent performance

I know mr lewis comes back to the memory of his father he never made peace with his father now its time to amend through these deal the old man reminds him of his late father that finally someones says i am proud of you my son

OA so what was the contract about at first and what did Edward want to help Mr. Morris with exactly? And if he did sign those contracts what good would they have done????? 🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨

He was a corporate raider, who buys out companies, breaks them up and sells their assets for more than the company was originally worth, destroying the company. If they'd signed the original deal it would have meant the end of the company. But instead now he's going to invest in them, and they're going to keep the company going.

@@firewraith9258 OA looks like Edward made a good decision by not signing the contracts and getting his company torn down. Also what would he get in return if the company was torn?????? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

@@ChelseyLinden yes, it's showing how he's changed and become a good guy because of Vivian. He'd make more money short term breaking up the company, but he'd be ruining the lives of the people who worked for it etc since they'd all be out of a job.
