Pretty Much Everything | Aaron Draplin | Talks at Google
Esquire. Ford Motors. Burton Snowboards. The Obama Administration. While all of these brands are vastly different, they share at least one thing in common: a teeny, little bit of Aaron James Draplin. Draplin is one of the new school of influential graphic designers who combine the power of design, social media, entrepreneurship, and DIY aesthetic to create a successful business and way of life.
Pretty Much Everything is a mid-career survey of work, case studies, inspiration, road stories, lists, maps, how-tos, and advice. It includes examples of his work-posters, record covers, logos-and presents the process behind his design with projects like Field Notes and the “Things We Love” State Posters. Draplin also offers valuable advice and hilarious commentary that illustrates how much more goes into design than just what appears on the page. With Draplin’s humor and pointed observations on the contemporary design scene, Draplin Design Co. is the complete package for the new generation of designers.

Draplin is a freakin legend. That crowd didn't deserve him.
I love Aaron Draplin. He is so relatable and approachable. You can teach design to a person, but you can never teach how to be a good human being. Aaron Draplin is a good human being.
it's 2019, I've just discovered this guy ! wow. he is such a refreshing inspiration, his humour brings a reality to graphic design. A story to tell that will encapsulate the world, keep it simple, keep it real and keep creating !
Love his creative process and his work! Keep it up Aaron!
This is a great video. This guy is interesting .i love the art. It's about the human thing.
Bought the book forty minutes into his talk! Great guy!

Aaron is a good man
I remember watching that logo design challenge video 5 years ago when I was 15 and I swear I watched it on repeat cause it was such a good video. I later torrented photoshop and illustrator cause I wanted to try. Inspirational guy.
Just love this presentation dude!

Like Chris Farley and Gary Vaynerchuk had a Graphic Designer baby...Aaron, I think you're my dad!
People complaining about politics being discussed in this talk when what you americans need most is a better education in politics.
He has the mentality of a man who worked in a chef's kitchen... I don't personally get along with people like him, but he does good work.
Anybody know what that serif font is he uses in the slides?

I know this is old, but I think it might be Memphis. If not it's some other slab serif.

Smile 2Q2Q is on the way.....
As a designer, I feel I must combat the stereotype of us being liberal, feminine & weak. So my mission is set. But the enthusiasm from this guy is great and he does great work.
Was excited to watch this. I love this guy. 15 minutes in it got weirdly political. Ok, no thanks... really tired of hearing everyone's politics. You aren't changing minds by being a prick about who people vote for. Anyway, still love this guys design skills. Much to offer in that arena.

Chris Ledoux felt the same way. It's frustrating how politicized everything has become, even things that have absolutely nothing to do with politics.

Huh. An artist has a political perspective... who woulda thought?

Aaron draplin sir stick to design and leave the comedy for the naturals please
The book is a relaxing read. The constant autistic screeching about Hillary and Trump is funny too.
There's zero structure to this talk.
