A Lot of fans a dubious about this appointment...they were when Arsene took over... He will bring stability and confidence to a band of players who are sinking my club slowly down the table.. For the first time for ages I'm Optimistic about the future of the Gunners...

Being ruthless is the key for development and Arteta has that kind of character

Arteta is the right man for the job.. time for the fans to show and give their full support.

@@tyleru96 I wouldnt call it generic. He's very clear and transparent on what he wants to do. Emery on the other hand was determined in his first season but I felt he wasnt really clear on what he wanted to do.

“I feel back home” was his first words. That’s it! I am sold

He’s right, a culture change is required. Not an easy thing to do. Will be interesting how quickly he gets buy in and what casualties there will be if anyone tries to undermine him. His backroom team will be interesting.

lX_BOOM STICK_Xl I think the culture is in part what the players do and understand. Are they clear, capable and motivated? I think there’s work to do on all three. IMO the culture of Arsenal is not as competitively focused as other clubs.

He was an awesome leader in the field and although he wasn’t the most talented in the pitch, he made the most of his energy, passion, fight and work rate. One of the best moments of his career was that great shot to the lower left corner against Joe Hart when we beat Man City and took them out of the title race.

I thought I'd only watch this for a moment but he's such a captivating individual. All the best boss.

Just too exciting listening to Arteta. It was almost perfect. Wish him the best not because I support this move but because he was so clear about his vision. Importantly, he understood there is a problem at the club and he intends to change it. Previous coaches didn't realise there is a problem.

Give the current team n the recent atmosphere now is kinda unfair to him..hope the fans can understand that its not gon take overnight to turn this arsenal team to a thing .. im lovin the way he speak ..his attitide..now lets see his tactical..hope he do well..

It’s a shame. If you read Emery’s interview with Guillem Balague, it’s in Spanish, translated to English, and you realise how massive the language barrier was. Emery talks about where it went wrong, what happened with Ozil etc etc. It’s very evident he is intelligent, knew what he was doing but it all just went wrong after that Europa final. Well worth the read. Feel sorry for him honestly but the change was necessary. Looks like Arteta can very clearly articulate what he means to do going forward and hopefully that translates to improvements on the pitch.

I'm dumbstruck watching how passionate he's about our club, and love how he twice stressed upon he wouldn't be here if he felt he wasn't ready. The fact that he said everybody has to fit in with the culture, he wants hem to deliver passion and energy and be accountable , anybody who doesn't buy into this is not good enough for the club will clearly resonate with the fans. You have our support Mike!

Very good first press conference! I get a really good vibe from Arteta. I think if the board fully support him he will be successful for many years and take us to new heights. They need to bring in two quality defenders and one quality midfielder in January to give them any chance at top 6 this year.

Best manager interview I have heard for a while.

Wow! Didn't expect this from his first interview. Very strong and convincing. Didn't feel like he was a number two before, seems like he always knew he would come back and help us. Good luck Mr. Arteta!

My friend, it's going to take years to rebuild this club. Anyone whinging after a few games, or even a few months, know nothing about football and should remain silent.
