    Nepo is incredibly gracious when he is disappointed by his result, his willingness to answer what seems like obvious and impolite questions gives him the appearance of a person with a lot of intelligence and control of his person.

    What I have learned from this is that I have come to respect Ian Nepomniachtchi a lot, and that he is a class act. And that Magnus answering these questions is trickier for him than coming up with moves over the board. Geez

    @@jakebame3530 I don't think 'absurd' was meant as disrespect toward Ian. When chess players look at their board while it's not their turn, they disregard possible moves by their opponent that set up easy counterplay. I don't waste time waiting for an opponent to walk their queen into a royal fork, and at the GM level, as soon as you see that c5 sets you up for c6 to trap a piece for easy capture with no compensation, I imagine you forget that the possibility exists for that move to be played and focus on their strongest possible moves. So when you see a GM play something that you've already recognized as an obvious mistake, I imagine it would be a shock to realize it was really happening. It might even feel absurd.

    Even as a Magnus fan, i hope nepo wins a game, if only one. He’s lost his vigour after game 6 and 8, and its still affecting him. Hopefully he gains his confidence back. Also, mad respect for him for staying so composed during the interview.

    I'd have to give it to Magnus for this one. He was trying his hardest to be respectful when addressing that c5 blunder by Nepo(admit it, that was a HORRIBLE blunder for a Chess Championship game where you are up 40+ minutes). Plus, being baited with questions, like being asked about adjusting a f*cking Knight for 0.8 seconds and not saying "Adjust" when his opponent isn't even there, and if he felt sorry for his Nepo. What kind of questions are those🙄?

    At this point it’s very hard If someone tells Ian how much he dominated in games 2-5, that he just lacked the conversion technique He could gain confidence back and give Magnus a gr8 fight for his title But it’s really hard now, a person can still bear pain of physical injury and play gr8 chess, but if a person is broken mentally, I don’t think he stands a chance. I just can hope that Ian doesn’t get trapped into depression or something, that would be too much on that poor soul!!

    Its easy to forget how superb this player Nepo is. And any great player can blunder under the pressure of facing a chess calculating machine - and the finest end game player in chess history. Would love to see Nepo play with the kind of focus magnus displays. Huge respect for Magnus.

    I absolutely love Nepos class act. It's really hard losing a chess game, and when it's the most important match of your life, it can be devastating. If it was Magnus Carlsen he wouldn't have even come to these press conferences. Just like he didn't in the Sergey match.

Magnus is truly the GOAT (in my opinion) but doesn't have the same level of class that nepo has, I don't know if it's an ego issue. The way I see it, I respect a great player with a classy personality more, than the best player who is not as down to Earth and classy.

    Even great players blunders. Even Bobby Fischer blundered a bishop in a similar fashion. It happens to everybody. We still like human chess more than engines chess. An engine cannot earn our respect like you did Ian, no matter how accurate it plays.

    If the Players wouldnt have to waste their time, recuperation phase, mental+emotional reserves for these unnecessary, drawn out, always the same, unfunny and uninteresting interviews they would definitely perform better and be able to actually enjoy a final like this between each other. Its like interviewing two Boxers in between the rounds in their 1 minute break, where they try to catch some new breath and focus their mental energy for the next round.

    Ian is clearly a great player and in several games seems to have had slight advantages. Just the odd move has cost him losses. Magnus has been so solid though and proving why he is world champion. Ian has shown huge character in the interviews despite the position he is in.

    Poor Ian Nepomniachtchi is struggling with nerves i think. The two previous World championships Carlsen really had a hard time. and it almost always ended up in Tie. when he won the first Match after a few ties Ian Nepomniachtchi has Crumbled in some ways. But the way he Handles the Press conference is amazing proper sportsman.
