Convert an aux channel into a subgroup channel select it for a vocal it adds a second EQ, Compressor, Limiter and that second compressor you may use it as a Dee essr with key filter but don’t forget to turn off Main for vocal channel because then your vocal will be doubled with ur subgroup channel

I hope you try to cover a video for commonly used mixers, small churches usually have an analog with only 2 aux out and very few eq features.

Really love your content James, you clearly know your stuff and are a brilliant teacher! Our congregation is thinking of upgrading from analog to the Presonus Studiolive mixer so I try to get useful info everywhere. About the side chaining: is this also possible on the built in compressors? There's one talk-back hack I saw on a Joe Guilder vid that gave me this idea: can I set up a compressor on the pastor's mic with extreme settings (annihilation) with side chaining to the band signal so that the congregation isn't distracted by his spontaneous karaoke skills?

yes, you can side-chain on the compressor as well. sounds like a creative way to solve the problem!

@@AttawayAudio I had to be a little bit extra creative to actually make this work, but I think I got it! My goal was to make a mix of band+organ+pc outputs to serve as a 'listen source' for the speech compressor. Problem I faced is that you can't side chain to a mix, only to a channel. Nor can you soft patch a mix to a channel. In the end I solved it by hard-patching the 'listen source mix' into an unused channel to which the compressor listens. By making this channel post fade, I now am able to bypass the Magic Minister Muter with a user mute function. Is there anywhere I can get my nerd certificate?

No each flex mix has its own main fader to throw DSP processing on. Make sure you turn the mix to pre2 to hear the EQs and Comps
