📝 ABOUT THIS VIDEO
If you've been following me for a while then you know that I love to make beats using physical equipment. There is nothing wrong with clicking your notes in if that's your thing, but I grew up playing instruments so being able to incorporate some of those tactical characteristics into my beat making is essential for me.
When making beats it's also important that I have a MIDI keyboard to play out melodies and a beat pad to program my drums. Now for the past 8 years, I've had the same two pieces of equipment in this category, those being the AKAI MPK 61 and the Native Instruments Maschine MK1, yes the original one.
In the past few weeks though, my trusty Maschine finally gave out on me and I was looking into getting an MK3 Mikro but then I re-stumbled back into the ATOM by @PreSonus Audio Electronics .
I've heard about the ATOM when it came out but I never gave it much thought because my Maschine worked fine and I'm just one of those people that for the most part if something works I tend to leave it be.
In any case, I decided to go with the ATOM instead and I gotta tell you I am LOVING it so today I want to dive deep into what this thing is, what it does, why I love it and why maybe you'll love it too.

Finally, watching you use Maschine in your convoluted workaround in Studio One always made me frustrated. When an Atom is perfectly integrated with Studio One. This makes me happy! Now you need a Faderport 8 and a Console 1. Trust me this the ultimate setup for mixing in Studio One.

bought the machine mk3 but also bought the atom since im a s1 user after using both i realized that the Atom was all i needed i can do everything the mk3 does within S1 itself and with the Atom just makes making my beats more enjoyable so my mk3 sits on the side as the Atom is perfect for my work flow and for a second controller i use Komplete s49 and they say it work good with the mk3 and yes it does since its almost the same but why spend that exstra cash when you can do the same with ease using the S1 with ATOM.

Since you're a Studio One Cat, I have a question for you. Let's say I'm wandering around S1's presets looking for that perfect bass for my tune. I find two or three that I dig and want to come back to play with them later. Is there a way to say them away some place and pull them up later for more exploration as a favorite? In Ableton LIVE, it's a snap. In Logic, the preset just has to be renamed. What's up with S1? Thx

16 physically on the ATOM but you can add more in S1 and then switch banks on the ATOM to control them.

So if you buy the atom you get studio one artist for free. I bought studio one artist for 99 euros. if I now would buy the atom for 155 euros, that's not a good idea, if I had known I would of course have bought the atom. hmmm? I am Dutch speaking

Too much commercial talk! You don't mention the crucial thing that is even in manual: You MUST perform firmware update otherwise it will not work and map correctly in Studio One. So you just mail Presonus your Maschine got damaged and you will do a review for them? You push it too hard bro to convince Presonus :-))
