My brother was murdered some years ago. He was a member but never really lived faithfully. Three days before his horrendous murder took place he felt he wanted to try the LDS church again because he felt something was missing from his life. Long story short...he did make a visit from the spirit world....twice actually....1-3 or 4 days after his murder took place and another visit a few months later....around 8 to be exact. He had been forgiven and wanted to accept the rest of his work. He promised that as long as I was faithful I would be with him again. How I needed that!

My father died in 2014. He was not a member but a few days after he died he visited me. He told me he was sorry and that he loved me. He was not around much when I was a child. He was a alcoholic but in his later years he had quit drinking and smoking. His visit has helped me find closure. My youngest son took his name to the temple and was baptized and confirmed for him. We now have the other ordinances to take care of. I truly believe we are being guided by loved one from beyond the veil.

Dolly Hooks I'm so sorry about the tragedy you and your family faced Dolly, isn't it comforting that you were able to experience that, reassuring you about him, that's kind of what Joseph experienced with his brother Alvin. The priests had told Joseph that there was no hope for Alvin, he couldn't be saved, yet years later, when he was translating the Book of Mormon, it was revealed to him that his brother Alvin was in God's kingdom.

A Christian I don’t mean to argue, for I respect your views wholeheartedly. But why would a demon want someone to enter the kingdom of God and live faithfully? I testify of the truthfulness of these people, and I truly urge you to consider reading the Book of Mormon. It testifies of the greatness of our Savior Jesus Christ, and the power of the Priesthood here on earth.

I was a 45 year old convert to the Church and had a prompting about my brother who died in a car accident at age 28 more than a decade earlier. It came while I was on the loop in Washington and saw the Temple there. One year after I jwas baptised I went to that temple for my endowment and a week later went back to do all of the work for my brother. That was 25 years ago and still strengthens my testimony of the truth that I have experienced. Without the temple there is no hope. We thank thee Oh Lord for a Prophet.

I joined the church at age 18. Around 5-6 months later, my grandfather visited me in a dream. I woke up in tears, having the impression that that was his way of letting me know that he had accepted the gospel. A couple of years later, after being inactive for some time, I decided to re-clean up my life, and go on a mission. After my mission call, I got a letter from the church, encouraging me to bring in my 4-generation family line to the mission field. Then I remembered the dream of my grandfather, and how I hadn't done his work yet. When I went to the family history center, I was disappointed to learn that somebody else had already done my grandfather's work. When I saw the actual dates of when his work was performed (which spanned 2-3 months), my dream of him occurred right near the middle of that 2-3 month window of when he was receiving his ordinances.

My wife passed in 2010 of cancer every so often she appears to me just to let me know that she loves me and misses everyone she often reminds me about our temple covenants we made together

I’m having chills right now. My grandma who passed away 10 years ago, appeared to me few weeks ago. She did it 3 times during the last few days... I thought I was going nuts. Then I prayed to our father in heaven to get some confirmation. And now this video pop up on my KZread suggesting it to me...God! Thank you! Your ways are amazingly beautiful.

Why are you speaking with the dead? God calls that an abomination. Joseph Smith himself spoke with the dead, Peter, James and John and John the Baptist. Christ said the dead cannot return. Joseph Smith was anointed by demons impersonating these dead men. President Nelson is showing his true colors. Isaiah 8:19 When they say to you, “Consult the mediums and the spiritists who whisper and mutter,” should not a people consult their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?

Strong Tower Strong Tower I think you are miss understanding the point, the abomination is to invoked or consult, pray or any kind of rituals to call up spirits. Also the dead can not return “physically” but spiritually in the Bible are many evidences that spiritual world exist and only if they are revealed to us won’t offend God. I’m not sure what true colors are you talking about, and obviously you are miss guided. The promise is that if you ask directly to God you will get your answers. Your statement proofs that you did not kneel yourself to ask with a contract spirit. If a person trust it’s own will and wisdom it can’t reach a better stay of consciousness or understanding. I’m order to get to understand wonder, you need to understand things in the holly ghost, not in his own logic.

The holly ghost do not stay in impure temples. When you hate, attack, or do blasphemy, The Holly Ghost doesn’t stay. So be careful with your pride and blindness. It can keep you from getting wonderful blessings. When a person is in peace and his spirit is connected to God it doesn’t go looking for ways to attack others in their believe. They accept God loves every creature and understands that God will guide the person in his love and own time. That’s why it’s showing to me you are lost looking to fulfill the peace you have not within you. My friend passed away years ago,and few weeks I have been missing her and wondering why is she not visiting me in my dreams. I was so sad as we were so close Then last week Saturday I was preparing for a lesson for Sunday and I came across this video. My question was answered and immediately I felt peace in my heart. I know she is busy doing missionary work on the other side of the veil. She was God fearing woman. My brothers and I have all had dreams with my father in them, but none of us can say we've received a visit. I believe there are strict protocols and rules that must be followed otherwise knowing my dad, he would have visited one of us by now. I think, for now we just get to trust in the process and order of things.

My favorite is Jeff Olsen's NDE....a Mormon guy who's wife and baby were killed in a car crash in which HE was driving. He has several interviews on KZread. His book is "Mile Marker 80".

I was raised in a Muslim family and I’m proud to say that the best decision I ever made was to be baptized in the name of my Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ in July 10th 2021. My aunt passed away in 2007 from kidney failure, she was a true Muslim and I had a dream about her being a missionary in the Spirit world. Amen ♥️♥️

President Nelson is a very eloquent speaker and he truly knows how to share messages in a very compassionate format however he is not a prophet of God I was misled my whole life when I was a Mormon believing that they were profits such as Joseph Smith Spencer W Kimball and so on please do not be led astray by the teachings from false prophets they do not teach the pure form of Christianity and what it means to follow Christ John 14:6. www.jesusistheplan.com

I agree, in Matthew 24, it does say that false prophets will arise. 1000% I agree with you on that. But let's look at Matthew 7:15-20 "15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."

@@Ether-pb5gb thank you for replying back as a Christian I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and it is always through him but I will return and live in heaven again someday it’s not through a modern day prophet it’s not true Joseph Smith it’s not through the book of Mormon it’s not through tiding it is only through believe in Jesus Christ John 3:16 for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him shall be saved and have eternal life in heaven When I left the church is when I first found peace

I resonate with this so much because I had a visit from my little brother and my sister from the other side of the veil and the message of that visit was to tell me they have met. I sobbed that morning telling my parents about the visit. I missed them so much. Some questions I had about them being together/meeting are only answered now after 8 years.

My grandmother (my mom's mother), passed away two days shy of my first birthday. I never got to know her but I'm now learning that she's doing very important work in heaven. Thanks President & Sister Nelson!

Wow this really opened my eyes. My father was a truly good example for me and my brothers and sisters. He passed about a year after he and my mother served a mission in Salt Lake. Now my Mother has passed to be with him. I vow to try and spread the Gospel any way I can and live the commandments to the best of my ability. God blesa you all.

@@fayelewis5476 I am sorry you read the Book of Mormon and did not feel the love and light of our Savior Jesus Christ or a witness of the truthfulness of the scriptures written in those pages. Perhaps it wasn't your time. I read it over and over and learn something new each time. I feel a closeness to the Savior more from reading the Book of Mormon than any other book. I know he guided all the Prophets that wrote upon the plates as to what to preserve and how to hand them down to the next generation of people. So the teachings can bring us miraculous feelings of the Holy Spirit, which brings peace, comfort, and joy! And another testament of the Savior Jesus Christ! I can assure you we do not worship prophets other than the Savior Jesus Christ and our Father in Heaven. I think we are speaking of the same beings. We might have a little misunderstanding, as we do love the many Prophets throughout all time and we are especially grateful and full of love for our living prophet. God loves us all, as he did in days of old that he still ordains a living prophet for us. I'm sorry there are so many misunderstandings and it takes more than a comment or two to get why and what we say. I am glad you love the Savior. That's the most wonderful love and devotion to keep! I just heard this video for the first time and I was very very touched. My daughter passed last year on February 13th. A few months later I was still in bed one early morning. I could have been dreaming or in a twilight sort of sleep but I had a fleeting glance of my daughter in the spirit world. She seemed to be studying. I immediately felt she was in a class type situation. This presentation has helped to identify more clearly that she was indeed in a refresher course in the spirit world and preparing to move on teaching the message of the Savior to others. For you see, she had always been considered a PEACEMAKER and helped a tremendous amount of people throughout her life. Although I only had a fleeting moment with her, it opened up a world of knowledge and awareness for me. Thank you President and Sister Nelson.

A few years ago my daughter asked me if I had heard this story before and it sounded familiar so I went to look for it in President Nelson’s autobiography and I believe that it’s in there. It’s been sometime since I read it but I found the story and I enjoyed very much reading it. Little did I know that a few weeks later I would be needing to recall this from my memory to comfort a dying sister that I had been assigned to visit teach a second time around. She was aged and was very fiable of body and spirit and was very afraid to die. And there was no question about it she was on her death bed. As I was leaving work I got a frantic call from her daughter asking me to please come that she could not calm her mother. I have no idea how to deal with this and I was by myself and so I did the best thing I could. I prayed all the way to her home. And still did not know what I could say to this sweet sister and as I walked down the hall to get to her room I hear a lot of crying and I find some of her children and grandchildren crying loudly. And the first thing that came out of my mind was. Mary what is going on? And she smiled right away and said my name and all of the sudden all went quite and more peaceful. I sat with and talked to and sung some hymns to her and she share with me that she was very afraid to die. And that’s when I shared President Nelson’s grandfather’s story and she calmed and smiled I told that she would soon be seeing her daughter and husband and parents and how wonderful of a reunion it was going to be. She went to sleep and never fell apart again after that. She lived 3 or 4 days beyond that. I know that hearing this story brought her peace. Muchas gracias Hermano Nelson.

My Grandma passed away before I was born and when I was in hospital one of the nurses told my mum "Oh your relative came to visit your baby." Mum asked the nurse to describe the person and it matched the description of my deceased grandmother.

veil is thin sometimes for some people for some reasons. really cool. it was thin ONE time for me when my previous Bishop showed up (he passed away from cancer), i didn't see him but i felt "his" spirit when i taught his daughter a lesson at the MTC. made me realize we all have spirits that can be felt but obviously don't sense it in our every day lives. i hope i can be true to the church. it's crazy true folks

I've have several experiences where my Great-Grandmother spoke to me from the spirit world. Always when I needed encouragement or support. Once, she appeared to me in my mind, but her glory was so great that I only saw a pure white light. I knew it was her though, and I heard her speaking directly to my soul. I am so glad that God allowed me to continue my relationship with her after she died. I know she will be waiting for me on the other side of the veil when it is my time to pass on to the spirit world.

Been watched this overtime to make sure I heard it right what an assurance and compelling to know that our departure love ones would be able to visit us and the confirmation that this is the true church of Jesus Christ and that missionary work and temple is indeed existed and continues in the spirit world thank you Pres. Nelson and to your great grandfather journal

Jordan's words at the end really hit me. I feel like my family members have always been present for me when I've needed them. That hit really hard.

I love that President Nelson shared this with all of us. The Spirit World is real and our loved ones are ALIVE there and are working very diligently to prepare for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. One of the most precious experiences that I have had with my family who have passed into the Spirit World is one I had just a few years ago when my father passed away. It has been almost three years since his mortal life ended on May 16, 2020. My father had served in the Army during World War II. He was in the Battle of the Bulge which was a horrific scene. He and a buddy were in a foxhole and were alarmed to see a German grenade land in front of them about 15 feet away. They knew it was going to explode very quickly, but there was no place to hide. At the very last second, another GI came running towards them across the field of battle. He was shot by enemy fire and his body landed upon the grenade which 2 seconds later exploded sending shrapnel and body parts over both my father and his buddy. My Dad carried shrapnel in his chin and shoulder for the rest of his life. As a result of the horrific scenes he had witnessed, he came to believe that there was no God and certainly not a loving God who would allow people do to such horrible things to each other. I had not yet been born, nor had my younger sisters as our father was not married at this time. My Mother and Father were married a few years later and I was born in 1953. When I was 17 I found and joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The single best and most important decision of my entire life. My two younger sister each joined as well a few years after I did. For the rest of my father’s life, all of us tried on many occasions to talk to him about the Gospel and the wonderful things that we each experienced as members of the True Church. Almost all of his life for the rest of his life he would not allow us to share anything of the Gospel with him. A month before he passed away, he called each of us individually on the phone. He told each of us that he wanted to say his goodbye before he passed away because he knew time was short and he was afraid he might not be able to do this if he were in a coma or something at the end. (And he was comatose for a week before he passed.) He told us how much he loved us and how much he had enjoyed being our Dad and how proud he was of all of us. I took this occasion to tell him about when he passed away what it would be like. I told him it was like walking through a door and on the other side ALL of his family-his mother and father, his brother and his wife, his cousins and aunts and uncles and friends-everyone he had known in this life would be there to greet him. It would be THE biggest and best family reunion he’d ever seen! He listened to me tell him this and then, for the VERY first time in his life, he said, “I hope what you’re saying is true. I’m willing to consider it.” I was SO happy!! He’d never said that before and I told him that as long as he was willing to think it might be possible, it WOULD be possible! About a month later he was in a coma, and I went to be with my mother while he was passing. I again took several opportunities to talk to my Dad telling him to go to the light and go through the door and to not be afraid. Later, that week he passed away. Since this was during COVID, & we were going to wait to have a memorial service, I returned home. As I passed through my bedroom upon arriving home, I distinctly heard my father say, “ Leslie, you were right.” Everyone knows their father’s voice-especially since I’d heard his voice for 67 years!! I know he must have really wanted to tell me that he had experienced that family reunion and that he was ok and EVERYTHING that we had told him over the years about the Gospel was REAL. And it IS. IT’S ALL TRUE! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ And that is NOT my only experience. ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for sharing uour father’s experience! I was blessed to see my deceased paternal grandparents in the temple, too-the visit was short, but important. A tender mercy.

Family history stories are so interesting - your own family or someone else's - they have such a profound effect on us. I never tire of hearing them - they teach us about life. Awesome, this is a very true statement for those who never understand why we do baptism for our ancestors. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church on the face of this earth, I love it I know this to be true and I do a lot of work for my ancestors and I haven’t finish yet. This is real story to share. I love it and it’s good to know that they were more busier there than here.

I encourage anyone that encounters a supposed deceased person to tell that spirit to leave in the name of Jesus Christ.

My mother visited my sister after I did the temple work for her. She told her she was now free, and then later she appeared to my older sister as an angel as she was going through her trials. She then also visited my nephew in a dream to tell us she was fine and happy in paradise. This is why I know that Baptism for the Dead is real. I have also felt her spirit, and she is doing her work beyond the veil. Now I will tell you of a testimony of a spiritualist who is not of our faith. She entered another of my sister's home and did a spiritual ritual, much like Samuel 25. Guess who she saw, without ever seeing her picture or any other family member, my mother, my grandfather, my great grandfather, and my great grandmother and grandmother, all in one place, and all sealed together beyond the veil. She could describe them much as the witch in Samuel 25 did, and she said they were angels. So unbelievers will one day experience these things, but I have enough testimony to know that this gospel is true. Since then my sister is progressing in learning of the BIble, she was an unbeliever for many years.

Thank you. Your story brought tears. Good tears. My mom was the same way. She would have a couple of loved ones who had pass come to her. They wanted their work done for them. So either she would do it or have someone else. My Mom didn’t always have a up to date Temple Recommend because, either my father was laid off, or they were having a hard financial time. They were proud and private people. My mom however, loved the Lord with all her heart. 💛🙏😇

I miss my children so much. Please pray I can bring them home soon...

I know this is true, My Aunt Olidine always used to send me birthday greeting cards, and she has visited me on my Birthday since she passed. And, shortly after my Mother passed I was told by her not to worry to go to sleep. And My Grandfather in 2016 or 2017 who barely could play a accordian. seems to have composed a piece of music for me, and played it for me, it was to help me sleep. He passed in 1970.

When a person dies, his soul is taken to heaven or hell, depending on whether he has placed his faith in Christ (Matthew 25:46). There is no reason to believe that a deceased person has any ability to leave heaven or hell in order to visit his living family members. Any such claim is a demonic deception (2 Corinthians 11:14-15). Satan would like nothing more than for people to dabble in the occult world of spiritism and necromancy. my grandfather visited me once. And only once. So far. Hopefully, another visit is in the works :) And hopefully, a visit will be in store for you too. As a father myself, I could only imagine the yearning and burning that I would feel when it comes to wanting to visit my daughters.

Very useful testimony

I had the pleasure of meeting President Nelson in New York last October while visiting the family history center at the NYC Temple. I'm engaged in parapsychology and working on my PhD in Religion to bring the two together and wish I could have had a conversation with him about these matters. My ancestors have assisted me in my genealogy work, and a medium who I had never met pronounced my grandfather's full name - with his West Indian accent - and then said, "The family is very pleased with the work you are doing on the family history Very pleased, Very, very, very pleased." Thank you for sharing this, President Nelson.

I will always stand up for all who believe and have love for God. I may not be with all here nor do I expect for anyone to accompany me while I’m here. In Faith we will all be together again Amen.

This is a lovely msg. I have listened to many NDE and l noticed not one of them were ever directed to any particular denomination. The abounding msg was love the light the immense power of changing because of the realm of pure love that they experienced they returned literally born again in the spirit of love and went on to share the spirit of Jesus or the spirit of loving others and serving others.

I have read what you read too and the only ones that seem to confirm LDS are LDS. Someone once mentioned maybe there are different parts to heaven and all the Mormons go to “Mormon” heaven

Wow This is a new truth I have always wonder if my mom is always with me, Now I know why. they are busy, she is busy doing the work and the Lord will permit her to me or any other when he sees a need for a work to be done.

U said 9 different people may say 9 different things, ok maybe, but this is that same ONE person with 9 different versions of the story, except it gets better each time its told. He was perfecting a totally made up story, thus so many different versions. It's a valid question and u should seriously do some research on it before calling me silly. One version he only saw heavenly father, another version he only seen Jesus christ, and so forth, till he decided that he saw that both at the same time. Now after knowing that, anyone with just a bit of common sense can tell its all made up or else there wasn't gonna be 9 version of the so called TRUTH.

The God that I worship calls that an abomination. When you contact the dead or dead people contact you it is really a demon impersonating your dead relative. Dead people do not come back. Do you know for sure if you died today where you would spend eternity?

These experiences are recorded in The Holy Bible, The Book or Mormon, The Doctrine and Covenants and The Pearl of Great Price. (2) To validate your questions, there is definitely an aspect of trusting acceptance without sufficient evidence-this is called faith. There is still plenty of room for faith in life. However, to speak to logic, reason, and science, there is no better example than Russel M Nelson. He is an M.D./Ph.D Who graduated early at the top of his class from medical school. He pioneered open heart surgery and developed the heart-lung machine that is still used today. This shows clearly that there is plenty of room for faith and science in one mind.

There is more evidence to support these claims than there isn't! Truth comes with the spirit of truth. One truth for all people. To bring us all together. This is just the beginning of the restoration. Many other things need n will happen!!!. Believe that!!! A real restoration of authority n truth was needed. Many might not like that fact but it remains true n filling the earth. Open your ears, minds, and hearts so that Lucifer doesn't cloud your mind. He will fill it with all sorts of non cense n confusion. But God will lead you straight!!! Read the standard works, you will see for yourself. Heaven will respond to you!!!!!!!

The words that the Prophet speaks are so inspiring and wonderful in regards to the work being done for our ancestors.

It is wonderful when the Prophet share such a sacred experience with us. It is sad when God's children trifle such an experience, more so especially when it is a matter they know nothing about and do not begin to wonder and search for themselves. There are certain things that are most absolute: One is that this is the Church of the living Son of God and the Heavens are open to it. How I may feel about this adds or subtracts nothing. Worlds without end. I wish all could come and see, there is nothing to be lost but everything to be gained. Please come and see.

My dear President Nelson, Thank you for giving us that gift regarding your Grandfather. When I lived in Los Angeles, I to was having difficulty trying to get past my 4th generation, as I was adopted, I knew who my birth parents were, but chose to be sealed to my foster parents. I prayed and prayed, no one knew anything about the family. So one night I had a dream, and there stood a woman her hair tight in a bun, and she clasps her hands in front of her, and her dress was 1800's+. I said "Well who are you?" She looked at me with Stearness of face and said. "I am Sarah Buffington Hart." I responded with excitement and said back, "I have been looking all over for you." She still looked at me, and said back "My dear, if you would pay your tithe you would find me."? Then she was gone. Well be that as it was, embarrassed that my ancestor knew I was behind in my tithe, I made it a point to pay a full tithe. I caught up. So the next year almost time for Mothers Day, I being a Family History Consultant volunteered at the L.A. Temple Library and my son had finished with Boy Scouts, came to get me. I will just tell you, I was directed to the Computers, and admonished to put in Sarah Buffington, there were two. One was the sister of Peter Buffington Jr. son of Peter Buffington Sr. and Hannah Waite. When I pulled her records up there was about 8 generations, along with my grandfather he was my 4th, and there was about 8 generations on his side. The enormity of family history, was so profound, that I made a promise that I would never leave one stone unturned and never neglect my Tithe and Fast offering again. I have been a member of the Country Club Ward, Phoenix Az. I have been the Family History Consultant for nearly 13 years. I am still going strong. I love family history, and not long ago, the Library notified me and others as well of the people that are in their lineage. I was nearly fainted when I found out that through my Foster family, and my Natural Fathers line, I am related to all of the Presidents of the Church, of course I haven't found out about yours yet. The blessings of knowing that the Man I read about Joseph Smith is in my family tree, is a blessing to me. I saw my deceased husband when he died for a few days after until the day of the funeral. I saw him with his deceased first wife and parents as they sat together. I saw my lovely father in his temple clothes come in smiling to check all was alright, and a voice of someone behind me I was not allowed to see telling my husband that I would be alright and he was where he should be. On my knees once again, on the day of the funeral I saw my husband walking without a limp on a green like no other green I have seen before walking over slight mounds towards his future destiny.

BLESSED IS the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly , nor standeth in the way of sinner, nor sitteth inthe seat of the scornful.

Never easy explaining the difference between faith and truth to someone who prays, gets a warm fuzzy feeling, and calls it knowledge.

We love this!

My great grandchild visited me and said "Do it. Do it right. Do it right now." He said his family reads this comment as scripture in the future. Praise the lord Joseph Smith!

Come and listen to a prophets voice. I would invite the entire world to watch and learn. I truly "Thank Thee Oh God for the Prophet"...Who does guide us in these the ladder days.

" Hebrews 1:1-2 Praise God that we don't need prophets anymore as God has sent us his perfect Son. We certainly don't need prophets that can't even get their stories straight on whether Adam is God, blacks are the cursed race, the Book of Abraham is a translation or an inspired musing, etc.

How many times has it been changed? New version easy to read?... I will not argue my faith but I will defend it. It is your right to believe what you will as it is mine to do the same. Peace to you.

@@johnlong8655 Christians believe the Bible has to be translated correctly too, incorrect translations are not the word of God. But God is faithful, and has provided over 5K manuscripts in the original Greek and over 25K total early New Testament manuscripts in Aramaic, Coptic, Syriac, Latin, etc that confirm that the Bible is a faithful representation of what he inspired. Further, these manuscripts demonstrate 99% reliability to the other manuscripts, with the vast majority of disagreements being minor grammatical variations, so that even atheistic scholars in textual criticism hold that the Bible that we have today represents what was originally penned to paper. Much of the hang-up some have about the "different translations" are based on ignorance of the translation process. For example, in Spanish one says "Se me cayo," which can be translated "I dropped it, " or "It, from me, dropped." The first translation would be an easy-to-read, more natural sounding English translation, the latter a clunky, but more accurate word-for-word translation. The different Bible translations like the ESV and NIV utilize these different approaches, but both are faithful translations, even though the intent of translation was slightly different. If the LDS church is going to hold that the Bible has been mistranslated, they have the burden of proof to show why this is so. As you said you are willing to defend your belief, can you explain how and when the Bible was mistranslated?

You might be someone who once was a member and left the church, what ever, I will pray for you. If you spent as much time trying to improve the world through good works and love we might not be having this conversation. I believe President Nelson is a Prophet of God I believe that Joseph Smith saw God the father and his son Jesus the Christ and restored the one and only true church back to the earth. The church is true and perfect. People make mistakes, however thank God for grace and thank God for sending his only begotten son to provide a way back into the presence of our Heavenly Father. How you believe is on you, free agency and all... God bless you and Yours.

I have given an argument refuting your position that the Bible was mistranslated and you refuse to defend your assertion, but instead resort to ad hominem attacks, by claiming that defending your position would be akin to "casting pearls before swine." Ouch. Is that how you approach all missionary efforts when the prospective convert doesn't immediately agree with your position? If I am misguided, shouldn't you be willing to walk along side me and show me where I am in error? In the book of Romans, the apostle Paul asks "how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?" You believe I am misguided, shouldn't you therefore follow the Biblical injunction to be a preacher to me? The "pearls before swine" does not apply as I am clearly articulating a well thought out, researched position with the goal of finding truth, not just some screaming internet troll with his ears closed. I have asked for your position, please show me enough love to respond, my eternal soul is at stake.

Golden Cross what scripture? We have checked scriptures in the Bible and in our Book of Mormon. To us it is also the word of God. I’m a new convert from southern Baptism. You cannot limit the power of God or the power of the blood of Jesus. It can save in life and death.Blessing unto you .

Golden Cross This is what I believe what apostle Paul said about the fullness of the gospel through the Lord of Jesus Christ : 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.(1 Corinthians 15) 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Sorry Faye but you are completely taking this out of context. First of all we don't go seeking out mediums and spiritualists who whisper and mutter. Miracles do still exist if you have faith. And God sending are family members to talk to us according to HIS WILL and not ours is not the same as us going to mediums to seek them out. In fact even the book of Mathew talks about how the resurrected rose from the dead and talked to the living. Mathew 27: 52-53 Please stop trying to look for excuses to find fault with our beliefs and open up your eyes to the real truth. I remember past conversations I have had with you from It's me Jessie videos. Some how I believe you are a sincere person trying to do what is right. But, your logic is wrong. I hope you come to see that one day. I really do wish you the best! 😃

@@jeffreysmith7542 I know that most LDS's are not in league with Satan. Miracles still do exist. The God that I worship has said that once you are dead you are not coming back. Even the Book of Mormon says that death seals a man's fate. The Book of Mormon says that heathen do not need to be baptized. Baptism for the dead was not added until later. Matthew 27 The rare exception when Christians (not non Christians) physically coming alive again here on earth is not the same as the 'spirit' of a dead person returning to talk to you. The God that I worship will never do that. President Nelson was speaking to a demon. That is why God tells you not to do that. The rich man was already in torment and Lazarus was already comforted. Luke 16 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great chasm fixed, so that those who wish to come over from here to you will not be able, and that none may cross over from there to us.’ It is not the true and living God's will that you should speak with the dead. The God that I worship says that it is an abomination. You worship a different god that allows for all manner of sinful things. That is your choice to worship a different god of course. Jesus Christ said, "Follow Me." John 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I pray that God will open your eyes and you too will start following Jesus Christ. Jesus said: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matt. 11:28). (Nowhere in the Scriptures does Jesus say anything about an apron…or grips…or signs and tokens.) You can trust Jesus.

Faye, you read the scriptures and do not understand them. Your arguments are non sequiturs. Your logic would invalidate Christ's transfiguration before Peter, James, and John, just to name one instance that directly counters what you're saying, unless Christ and the apostles are themselves liars or deluded into being fooled by evil spirits. While your heart is in the right place, your arguments would be much more sound if you developed an understanding of the doctrine before trying to make meritless counter-arguments.

My logic doesn't invalidate anything God and Jesus Christ do. God and Jesus Christ can do anything they want to and it is right. Who are you to stand in moral judgment of Jesus Christ? Why would Christ have to follow the commandments made for sinful, fallen created beings like you and me? The Bible says that Jesus Christ is an uncreated being who has always existed with God the Father from all eternity. Yet you would deny this. God said Jesus Christ was God, Christ claimed to be God and was even crucified because He claimed to be God, yet you would blaspheme the name of the Lord and deny all this. You should have more respect for Jesus Christ. I challenge you to read your Bible as a child. Have a good one.

Respectfully, as a Christian who is reading the BOM (with Come Follow Me) I find this doctrine striking. Isnt speaking the dead utterly forbidden by Jehvoah several times in the Old Testament? The most notorious example being Saul and the Witch of Endor speaking to Samuel, for which God was deeply angered. When did God reverse course on this topic?

I am willing to investigate the claims of the LDS church and compare them to the Bible to whether the claims to restore the fulness of the gospel are plausible or not. It is true much New Testament doctrine alluded to in the Bible is recalled to people who obviously had more information. This does include mysterious references to predestination, baptism for the dead, spirits in the spirit world, and so forth. Modern Christian's freely confess to uncertainty about them and in the same breath claim to be authentic keepers of apostolic truth, an undeniably tenuous claim in light of their confessions. The more of it read the more I feel I appreciate my Holy Bible. This topic (of speaking to the departed) borders on outright witchcraft by the Bible definition and frankly warrants explanation by LDS if its teaching comport with the Bible.

@@michaelmurphy6586 OK, fair enough. Personally I think using the Bible to validate or invalidate the BofM is roughly the same as using Stalin's "Fundamentals of Leninism" to critique "Mein Kampf." Anyway, I too have read the BofM, most of it anyway, with all the beholds, and It came to passes ad nauseum. I read it mostly out of curiosity and also so I can say "yes I have read it," to Mormon apologists. I personally take a more academic or scientific view in refuting the b of m. There is virtually no academician anywhere ( not on BYU's payroll anyway) in the fields of DNA science, history, Egyptology, anthropology, archeology, or linguistics who would say there is the remotest chance the events in the Book of Mormon could have happened. It is almost certainly fiction. The Book of Abraham in the PofGP, and the FairMormon and the Chruch's defense of it, I reserve for a comedic rather than theological issue. There is a whole lot more to work with from this approach.

God has not reversed course thankfully. Joseph Smith himself spoke with the dead, Peter, James and John and John the Baptist. Joseph Smith was anointed by demons impersonating these dead men. Specifically, where does it say in the O.T. about not speaking with the dead? My grandfather visited me once in a dream. He didn't speak. But he didn't have to. I later found out the somebody else, in a temple out-of-state, was performing ordinances on his behalf, during the same fall that I had that dream.

My brother visited after he died.

In 2020 some months after my dad passed away I woke up in the morning laying in my bed I opened my eyes I saw the window, turning my body I saw the ceiling and when I turn to the wall side an image opened in front of me like a movie screen on the wall. I saw my father like he was in his 50's, and he passed away with 94. He was sitting on a wooden bench in my vision and behind him a perfect wooden panel, his shirt was caramel color mixed with brown triangle cones. A good shirt quality very clean and no any little part dented. His skin color was dark brown and without open his mouth he told me he was surprised with that color on his skin and that he doesn't feel comfortable because his skin color suppose to be white like it was when he was in the earth. He told me he feel peace there but he is not happy with that color and he said I could do something to help him to fix that. I said yes dad, I know what to do. Then that image disappeared. I was more then impressed with that episode. I knew I needed to send the covenants in temple to him and so I did, even it was challenging cause the temples were close in 2020.
