President GHW Bush “The Aggie War Hymn”

Ойын-сауық

It was an incredible 2 days in Houston and College Station. But I wasn’t prepared to hear The Aggie War Hymn written by my cousin J.V. Pinky Wilson as President George H.W. Bush’s casket was carried from the train. It was beautiful... and very moving. Pinky was my maternal grandmothers 1st cousin. Texas A&M Class of 1920.

As a Sooner, I’ve always had a ton of respect for Texas A&M. Watching this brought tears to my eyes. Such an amazing song, played so beautifully for such an amazing man. Well done to the Fighting Texas Aggie Band!

There have only been two occasions where hearing the Aggie War Hymn brought tears to my eyes. The first one was the Aggie Band tribute to the victims of the 1999 Aggie Bonfire collapse, and then this was the second. Rest in peace President Bush from the class of 2006.
