President Eisenhower, General of Allied army receives a riotous reception on his arrival in Washington. General Eisenhower gets into the king's horse cart. More than a million people forgetting the heat and humidity roar their welcome to the man who served as the Supreme Commander of the Allied forces in Europe. General enters into Guildhall and receives honor 'Citizen of London', given by Chapel and another symbolic honor- the presentation of the Duke of Wellington's sword. General honored in England, rides carriage to Mansion House. He addresses a throng at the Mansion House. He speaks from balcony, "I am a Londoner myself" and ask the people to help cement the bond between the two countries. Paris: In the shadow of the Arc de Triomphe, General Eisenhower and citizens of Paris gather to deliver honor to tomb of two unknown soldiers. General is decorated with the Medal of Liberation by General Charles de Gaulle. He rides in carriage. Motorcade goes. People welcome the General. The US flag and sign of 'welcome Ike'. General Eisenhower disembarks from plane and greeted by his wife and people of his home land. He enters into the Capitol with dignitaries. He speaks to the Congress in House Chamber. In White House lawn, he receives medal from President Harry Truman. Location: United States. Date: June 18, 1945.
