❤ your narrative about how God blesses us with this beautiful bounty. Thank you.
I never thought to dry them. I freeze them and use them to make veggie stock with the rest of my veggie scraps. That way we’re adding those amazing benefits to things like rice, mashed potatoes, soups etc. 😋

I love how you have a heart of thankfulness and gave Glory to our GOD in your video! 🙌🏼✝️ I’m enjoying the dandelions in my yard this year! I have not had pesticides in our yard for 10 years. Mine are smaller and more Lion tooth like shape. I still have flowers (which I’ve dehydrated for tea) so maybe I’m harvesting mine while they’re younger / earlier in the season. 😊 I’m still trying to decide if we should take them in and clean well before drying. I’ve been washing and soaking in vinegar. It still seems my petals may not be completely clean in all of the folds. Another vid I watched said to boil them so I’m considering that but do not want to lose any nutrients.

Awe thanks Kim! Ya I’d be worried about losing the nutrients through boiling too. Honestly I usually just give mine a quick rinse now but I’m not as worried about washing them since I’ve moved to the country. When I lived in a busy downtown city I used to soak them in baking soda but vinegar probably works just as well! Flowers I could see being harder to clean especially when those annoying little bugs get in them.
Plantain has amazing benefits for us too😊 I infuse it with my comfry to make a healing salve. I'm so happy I found your channel

Thank you for those kind words. We've dealt with many similar issues over the years :( I believe God can heal and will be praying for you!!
Very educational. If a few leaves are still moist, eat some and make soup or a vinegret salad the next day. Delitcioso.

I don’t use plantain enough! What do you do with it? I’ll def check out your video! I do use purslane but I find it really hard to find out here in the country. I should probably just plant it :)

Thank you for this video! At what stage are you picking the leaves? Is this before it flowers or after the fuzzy stuff is gone??.
@myflourishingfam

Anya stage! The bigger they are and once they start flowering the more bitter they become, which isn't a bad thing it just depends on your preference. But you can harvest all season :)

@@maretazimmerman3748 just be sure the gardener hasn't been spraying any chemicals in your yard around the dandelions. That could make them toxic.

I grow my own in sacks that are actually for growing potatoes 🥔 in, but works great & I can keep them cleaner this way. I pick the leaves when young, small and tender for my rabbit 🐇 and I also put it in my dog's food that I make for him. He LOVES it! 🥰👍

I usually rinse them or soak in baking soda with water, but I also live out in the middle of a forest with little to no pollution compared to what you would get in the city so take precautions as necessary:)
Do you harvest just the leaves or do you also harvest the yellow flower?

The leaves on my dandelion look different is that a problem?
@myflourishingfam
2 жыл бұрын
It shouldn't be if you're sure it's a dandelion! There can be different shaped leaves, some are spikier and thinner looking, mine are more rounded and a lot of mine are abnormally large
You forgot to wash it before drying?????
Okay so my leaves are not big like this? Is that okay too?
@myflourishingfam

@@BrysonBeauty23 Don't apologize!! Yup totally fine! I rinse mine but if you're in the city I'd def recommend washing them a bit better probably. And then after dehydrating you could totally store it in whatever air tight container you have :D I still have some that are from 2 years ago in a glass jar lol
