Thanks so much for this video, Bowser! I’ve been struggling switching to the echo raid build from my blossom build of last season, even with using icy veins & similar tips/builds. Your video is very clear and concise to explain the main deal on how to setup the raid combo’s with it. I’m glad you got around to this requested topic!

Your point at 15:45 ish is a really great point that I think could be applied to anybody learning to heal. To get into an action flow (and I think the flow is important) and learning how to add in and remove parts of the flow as you go along healing. I think it also helps nervous healers how to be calmer and less likely to frantically key and spell around. There are mistakes and there are emergencies, but a healer should feel like a rhythm where you're totally aware of the castbar and already ready for what your next spell should be. A lot of people don't learn that rhythm (especially the bare basics "this is not good gameplay but will keep people alive) of each healer and go in and panic and start spamming this and that and then make mistakes. They need the healing.... idk? Flow? Healing has a flow, I think. For people who may struggle to feel that flow, maybe think of a spell interaction to get you into it. Like resto shaman tidal waves (riptide - heal this, heal that) or holy priest Lightweaver (flash heal, flash heal, give this big heal!) rotation type stuff. It's a sort of back and forth that you weave between in healing. I am probably making no sense, but it's how healing has always made sense to me, in that it has a (chaotic? OFTEN) rhythm, but it has a rhythm, and the more you know the rhythm, the easier it is to make little deviations

This is why I love healing m+ on discipline priest. It has such nice flow. Because its actual healing buttons are quite limited, you’re sort of forced into a pseudo-dps rotation and you can just juggle cds to respond to bursts of damage. I’ve played disc priest for a long time and only disc priest, and it can be pretty weird to switch to other healers. I struggle to get into the same sort of “flow”

The first part of this, about echo being a smart heal is just not the case. It is entirely separate, whether a target gets a double db is just up to chance. These smart heals are just "is player under 100.0% health? They are an option to be healed." The only exception to this for us is spiritbloom, which will cleave onto the lowest health allies in range.

No you can go test it. It’s about target counts for the most part. But if you drop echoes and then dream breath smart heal attempts to not hit the echoed targets. Maybe I’m extremely lucky but this happens enough in raid for me. I’ll go double check and ask my raid team to stand in fire or something. But it even does this in dungeons. I have witnessed a foul spirit bloom in a dungeon that doubled up instead of healing someone. But it very well could have been range

@@Bowserthehealer yeah unfortunately it is just random. If 10 people are injured in front of you, 5 have echo, that db could go on any of the 10, including those with echo. After that, the echoes are consumed and those 5 get the echoed hot. They are totally independent.

Hey Bowser, i love your videos, but i do have one simple request if possible. Would you be able to add spell icons as well as combos of spell icons to your videos? Method do this on their videos and it really does make it easier to follow for visual learners as its easier to see the integrations! Much love!

your raid talents are not working plugging them into talent calc

(Just started the video, but remember when Discipline healer's niche was low constant smart healing, and targeted big healing, and they said that they wanted no smart healing in the game and removed it all. Now discipline is the spec with the least (i.e. NONE) smart healing, and all main healing has to be targeted or decided 10-15 seconds before, and almost every other spec has OOOODLES of smart healing, while disc is still in prison for its MoP sins lol) And some healing specs are literally now defined by smart healing, and have waaaaaaay more absorbs than disc does. RIP the smart battle healer with smart healing and absorbs. Now you have a ramp to get into a ramp to get into a ramp for a cooldown for this cooldown for that cooldown and you need to do this cooldown. Meanwhile, the resto shaman: "Chain heal go burrrrrrrrr". Even Prayer of Healing from Holy Priest is effectively a smart heal, and spammable, even if it's (to be polite) an absolute pile of unicorn excrement.

Random question, I've had trouble with Verdant Embrace on mouseover macros. It doesn't work if I mouseover a nameplatr like all my other heals, only when I mouseover the character itself. Is this intended or is there something I can do to change this? It gets confusing in content when I'm trying to balance everything and then I have to find the right character too.

That is wild, I’ve never had this issue. I guess to start what are you using for mouse over? Like in game defaults, macros, an add on?

In game defaults mostly. But I think I've tried making a custom macro, can't remember exactly though 😂

Just advice, you should throw up tool tips of abilities when doing guides on beginer guides. People start with a fresh level 70 character these days so the names of abilities might as well be new words with no definition. Assume being have no idea what your talking about. Throwing a quick image and tooltip of the ability would be very helpful connecting your words to the abilities your describing in your video. 👍🏼
