Presentation of New Colours to the 78th Highlanders - Part 1

Part 1 - • Presentation of New Co...
On June 28, 2018, the 78th Highlanders received new colours from His Honour The Honourable Arthur J. LeBlanc, Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia. Colours are the flags carried by a regiment that symbolize loyalty to the Crown through the Queen's Colour and the spirit of the regiment, as a family, through the Regimental Colour. Both colours are treasured icons of the regiment and traditionally formed the rallying point in battle.
The colours presented in this video are reproductions of those presented to the original 78th Highland Regiment of Foot on May 30, 1868 in Montreal.

My Great Grandfather served in Halifax in the late 1890s in the Berkshire Regiment and my father was born there in 1897.
