For motorcycling, we always recommend frames with a removable eye seal that blocks wind and debris from swirling in behind the lenses causing discomfort and unsafe conditions. The best part is that you can remove the eye seal for lower speed riding or just casual wear off the bike.
We recommend lens colors that provide contrast as opposed to a grey lens that just makes things darker. Great contrast colors include brown, bronze, or rose tints. Polarization as well as Transitions lenses that darken with more sunlight are also available.

How long do these take to make and can I have a bifocal? My optometrist told me I can't have wrapped glasses because my prescription is too strong. Any thoughts?

Hi Tom, Thank you for the questions! Surfacing a set of free-form digital lenses takes 5-10 days depending on how busy the lab is. We ship from Dallas, TX so shipping time to anywhere in the US is usually 1-3 days depending on how close you live. There used to be no bi-focal option for free-form lenses but a new design was released a few months ago that filled the spot. The new bifocal design does not show a line like a traditional bifocal and supports ADD powers up to +3.00. This IS NOT a progressive lens, but progressive lenses are available. Your optometrist might be using standard surfacing equipment in their own office and that might be why they say you can't wear wrapped Rx glasses. A standard surfaced lens is not recommended in motorcycle glasses because it will not compensate for the wrap of the frame. Free-Form Digitally surfaced lenses are the only way to the optimum riding experience because they get rid of that annoying peripheral "fishbowl" effect while providing a much bigger and sharper sweet spot. We use several free-form lens designs for a variety of prescription powers. Powers between +4 and -5 are usually no problem. For powers reaching up to +10 or -12, we have a specialty free-form lens design that is finally giving patients the option they have been looking for in wrapped frames.
