Mr. Morales has been involved with Presa Canario dogs for over 43 years since he was 11 years old. He comes from a family lineage of dog and rooster fighters in Puerto Rico.
The Presa Canario breed has a rich history, with roots tracing back to the Spanish colonization of the Canary Islands. The breed was used for guarding, tracking, and fighting purposes. Over time, the breed has evolved, with some breeders focusing more on the "Dogo Canario" variety that is larger and more Mastiff-like.
Mr. Morales emphasizes the importance of preserving the "traditional" Presa Canario type through selective line-breeding and in-breeding. He is critical of breeders who cross the Presa with other breeds, feeling it dilutes the desired traits and characteristics.

How exactly did u say he breeds the dogs? I must of missed that bit I heard him mention he linebreeds and inbreeds but didn't catch any specifics

Joe I don’t much on the presa breed learned quite a bit, but what I really enjoy is y’all energy. Just love the passion , the topics discussed and enjoy learning about working dogs. the presa canario did not completely went extinct. there were breeders specially in the gran canaria island still breeding it!
Mr. Morales had said that he bred back to a granddaughter I believe the dog name was Barrabas and looking for a hotter dog and sometimes he would get a one through 10 The video kept cutting out, but I understood that he was looking for that specific treat that one through 10 dog and Barabas specific treat was he would jump to a persons, face and attack Barabas in the pedigree 11 times over and breeding his dogs tight would get them that specific trait that he was looking for to engage an attack the person instead of playing with the decoy The inbreeding and line breeding is definitely a tool to get his specific and desired treats he knows that the hotter dog stands up to the pressure when applied

You can compare my breeding family with Don Mayfield or Floyd Boudreaux. My will be in Presa Canario database and Don and Floyd will be on pedigrees online . They are different approach. You can’t copy exactly the way someone breeds . Cause every dog is different in every way. But I will tell you this. If you have good dogs in the first and second generation. You will always try to breed them back with any generation you have the latest. So you will never lose your spark 🔥. That’s only to guarantee the flame for ever . Good luck.

@@CharlieTheCaneCorso when I met him i get an impression of him. But I listen to what he has to say and him and my grandfather was right about it. Since then I breed the same way with a lot of success.

@@CharlieTheCaneCorso that’s good, another guy I listen to is Alberto Betancourt, he breeds fighting cocks and is well known for his breeding methods of line breeding and inbreeding.
This is a link to a list of different breeds average COI For anyone interested If the accepted safe level of COIIS 5%...... Many breeds are way way more that that could we ask the question of how breeds get away with having such high COI and other breeds can't...... Or can they........ @@CharlieTheCaneCorso I’m not trading, I’m testing dogs . If I do some kind of training it will be obedience. Your dog it should know what is guard after all is a guard breed .

@@CharlieTheCaneCorso first I treat them like game dogs or game rosters. If they don’t want to engage with a human they can’t be tested for ppd . They have to want to fight the man in their first trial before they can be used for protection. I hope this helps you. Good luck

@@presacanariodelosmorales4252yes I understanding ur method of testing dogs I like ur method of testing dogs I like ur testing, looking for instinctual behaviour animalistic aggression in defence not the ability to learn how to put on a show Also if they happen to have a little accidental yard accident fight you mite of let it continue a while and watched a little and made ur evaluation, thats priceless 😂 So u train obedience basics.. Sit Out/leave it Come when called
BARRABAS had a female Ridgeback in the fifth generation 👀👀 which means you have heavy Ridgeback in your dogs since you closed your yard🤔
