Living full-time in my rolling tiny home has been the best decision of my life. Off-Grid living offers a peace and connection to life that you just can't explain. When i first started van life i build a stealth camper van with the mindset the you had to live a stealth van life and i soon discovered that you can just live the city van life and boondock in the countryside and as long as you are respectful of the backcountry and cities you live in. Stealth van life in not necessary. Be proud of the life you choose to live, Share this van life journey with everyone. Remember Tiny Homes and The whole tiny house lifestyle is very popular and #vanlife is no different. When you don't hide it people will come say hi and ask you questions. The world is more curious than hateful. Well......Welcome to my everyday van life adventures. My name is Chrome Valdez and i travel full-time with Cruz the bulldog. Stay weird everyone and thank you for being here.

You can add a small duct tape loop to the inside of your window shields so you have a place to pull them out without damaging them.
Really happy you bought the Garmin, everyone venturing out alone should have one. 🌹❤️

@@johnringoo756 I agree and there are cheaper ones.maybe not in Canada though.
Flannel never goes out of style! So comfy.
From a guy who has been solo hardcore traveling for over a decade... One thing I know for sure is never depend on a gadget to bail you out. Cool idea and might save your life but really the truth about solo travel is what you learn about yourself and how you will handle a bad situation with no one else to help you. Take it from me that device is a false promise of hope when the sh!t hits the fan. You will need to be your own man and you WILL be better for it in the long run. Love your channel dude 👊 keep up the good work.

10's of thousands of people's lives have been saved by PLB's, inreach's and even just radios and cell phonex. They are a very worthwhile investment.

@@concernedcitizen684 a PLB is a personal locating beacon used to send a one way emergency distress signal. My dear friend, an avalanche rescue expert, always had one in the backcountry among other things.

Hi Chrome - in the last few videos you seem a little lonely. Just letting you know there are thousands of us out here who love you and appreciate you. Your videos - whether on your music, touring other vans, finding cool places to stay, or just doing life with Cruzy - bring many of us joy. We are pulling for you!

Hey...he's MY crush!!!
Chrome, that is so awesome. My wife and I travel separately and this is an excellent way to keep in touch.
Maybe next get yourself a CB radio or get a licence for Ham? A HF set in your van would mean you could chat with people all over the planet!
I have the garmin inReach mini for remote backpacking so I can text my son and loved ones that I’m ok. It’s also good if you ever get badly hurt and need to get rescued by a helicopter. Hit the sos button and BOOM they show up! Good purchase brotha
i wanted to share with the community. My son and I just did a x country drive in the month of October in the USA. No hotels, i was in my prius c with the two dogs and my son rode his motorcycle. it was magical. over 5k in total miles and so many National forest, state parks, lakes and some friends home...we need nature. it grounds us all...
I just bought a Inmarsat 2 for the same reason, as of late I’ve been finding myself in more and more remote places without signal.
i have the inreach.. i hardly ever use it, but it is by far the best piece of equipment i own. another thing it is good for is moderate things ...like: "i'm going to be late" "i'm going to a different place" ... etc. also you can help other people.

Yes, once I realized that I was old, and didn't have quite the resiliency I had twenty years ago I started carrying one. What people forget is that you don't have to be miles out in the back country to be stranded. If you are out of cell phone range, which happens a lot in the west, a broken leg or a heart attack near your favorite trout stream fifty yards from a major highway and you are as stranded as if you are in the middle of nowhere.
Since it was on your case, A tube of crazy glue would only be $2
Found out the hard way that you need to turn off auto tracking unless you want it on b/c there is a charge every time it records your position. It's a great unit, though. Peace of Mind - Priceless! Now you just need a VHF unit to keep out of the way of those logging trucks. 😊
Nothing like getting supplies and getting stuff done then doing work and relaxing in the van on a rainy day
Cruz is like....aw dad I dont want a bath, I took one last month.
Wow 110k already - Your channel is growing so fast - congratulations once again 🚐🎥🐾🐶❤️
We’ve got that Garmin! Just used it for the first time this past summer on a canoe trip in the Boundary Waters. Such awesome peace of mind!
So interesting to watch you go from streets to dirt roads. City Boy is going Country! 💓

Ahh, Cruzie's face in the car when you shut the door at the pharmacy! So cuuute! And he didnt look too happy about getting his bath 🤣
I'm fairly new to you and what I'm doing is going back to all your old videos and working my way forward so I can be brought up to date with all your journeys. Your old videos always bring a smile to me and make me have a laugh or two

It's good to see how he's grown personally and van wise. Really a good person.
I’ve carried an inreach on my travels for years, very nice peace of mind! You can pause your subscription when you know you’re not going to be out far and save some money for a few months a year.
Awesome to see your progress over the years you definitely have a lot to teach us all. Thanks chrome
I just love your attention to the little details like the rain dripping off the roof gutters, rain drops on windows, all of it. Your music choices are impeccable. You are a truly talented story teller. Love the positivity! =^..^= Sam.
I'm so glad you purchased the garmin. You go into such remote areas you now have a safety net. Also instead of throwing about your old window boards you should tape 3 or 4 together will beef them up & should last alot longer.
💥💥💥Ok I just came up with another MERCH idea... You should put " SO GOOOOD!!" on some stickers/ coffee mugs....😜👍
Glad you have a way to get help, should an emergency arise. Stay Safe.
I have the in-reach mini and love it!! I use it for hiking and/or boondocking in my van. So many awesome features and it definitely makes me feel safer.
You are a good Dad! Made me weepy watching you talk about your daughter. Loved watching Cruzzie get a bath...so cute!!!! Christmas present to yourself.....Safety!!!! 👍 ❤
Have you ever thought about using the old one and the new ones together the window lines putting a cover over them with a little handle so you can take them in and out of the window easily
The peace of mind that comes with an inReach or something like it is priceless
Cruz baths may be no fun but you always look so beautiful...big hug to you cutie pie! And Chromeo I gotta say I am diggin' your matching Dickies shirt & shoes.
You’ll love the Garmin In-Reach Mini. I’ve had mine for a couple years now. I particularly like the SOS button. Well worth the money as a fulltime backcountry vandweller. Congratulations 👍
Weather Tech has window covers customized to various types of vehicles. They might be a bit more then you want to spend but you wouldn't have had to replace them all the time. Just a thought. Love the Garmin, keep safe out there.
You should look into getting a satellite phone they are as small as a smartphone Rogers has them skål 🍺🍺🍺🍺
Something I will have to ask Santa for! My girls and I travel solo to all kinds of places like you off the beaten trail so this little gadget would be a safe guard against any disaster that may befall us off the road.
3M has awesome adhesive products. Clean off the old one and put on a slim double sided strip. 5 bucks instead of 30. Bubba Cruz is sooooo cute. Safety is always first and foremost when on the road to anywhere from anywhere. This also gives us peace of mind that you won’t be stranded if you get hurt.
I'm looking at joining the nomad life next year and have been looking for something that will give both me and my family a piece of mind. Thank you Chrome for talking about the inReach mini!!
For holding my cell phone, tablet, GPS, etc., to the dashboard, steering wheel, and over my bed, I cut holes the size of fender washers in the rubber device protective cases, and glue fender washers flush with the case using "Shoe Goo" with masking tape to hold the finished side steady until it sets up. Strong magnets glued to the dashboard, ceiling of the van, or some kind of velcro harness for wrapping around the steering wheel when parked
Hi Chrome and Cruz, shirt looks nice and warm!! Have a great day!
That Garmin unit sounds like an absolute LIFESAVER!
Always looking sharp Crome and Cruz! I love how u always takes us with u on ur morning cup of coffee run . Hugs to u both
Very cool. And thanks for showing how you set it up. That is most helpful!!!
Stay Weird Chrome and Cruz ✌😉👍
I'm loving it! Thanks! I'm a second Master's Degree person, who is marrying a person who wants to go to school to study computer technology stuff! I'm also CDL endorsed. As soon as we can get our own van built we need to invest in some of this technology! Thanks, Chrome! God bless you both Chrome and Cruze! Give Cruze Bear a treat or a bone!
Chromeeeeee!!! Have fun and enjoy the back country! 😊 the green looks great!
You made the right choice I tried the one with the flat part on your phone because you're in the car the heat melts the adhesive and it doesn't stick properly so you made the right choice
Expensive but a great thing to have.. if you’re in the back country and stuck Get out ran out of food or accident like you said it could save your life that’s the main thing. Glad you got it and you’ve got that Safetynet now
You know i often thought of that when i was forest videos that little guy way out there by himself i'm glad to hear you say he has one and now that you're getting more and more into the backcountry as a watcher of your videos it gives me peace of mind good purchase smart thinking
Most Walmarts, (in the States), no longer allow over night parking. Download the RV Park app, from Google Play Store to see locations the sheriff's will not chase you away from.

I've found most in rural areas are fine with it, but in cities, nope. I was surprised the one in Squamish was okay with it since you'd think it would be complete full of mountain bikers every night.

Our local Walmart just put up warning signs and security cameras in regards to No Overnight Parking. Tis a shame and a sign of the times.
Always look forward to your videos. The love you show that dog of yours is very heart warming..,
Be careful with that Garmin, Cruise might chew that up...my dog did that with a bicycle light.
a steel washer would have done the same thing. Cost you 5 cents.
Wise purchase! So happy you have that Chrome!! 😊
I’m glad you got it because you really do need something in case of emergency we love you be careful wherever you go
Love watching Cruzie..makes me smile..
Those GPS tracking devices are super useful! A lot of hikers use them for safety! Great purchase Chrome! Also you highlighted two other things I’ve copied from you! The $store foam window covering and the ball phone holder! You are full of great tips Chrome! Thanks a bunch 😊🙏
Good on ya, it really is all about Safety First.👌 I'm sure your family and friends feel much better now, one less worry just in case. Good thinkin'👍
Im glad you think of your safety or for Cruz. That will be handy in a lot of situations. I hope it really works out for you.
Watching KZread today and an ad came on. The voice in the ad sounded like you. I wondered if you were doing that type of work. It's certainly something you would be good at.
Have fun and take care and take it easy and enjoy it
I used to sell Garmin GPS stuff around 25 years ago. They could have gone the way of Nokia and Blackberry by now, but big thumbs up for still producing useful products!
Awww.. It was so cute with cruzy just looking at you like that😊
Cruz got you back for that bath! Haha!
Great find! I am SURE you will appreciate its usefulness when out in back woods, and even in travels and cities.... Always good if you have an alternative way to contact your daughter and family! Well done! Stay safe and well! Cheers! :)
Ya i just bought a dixxon shirt for my son. He loves them too.
Smart move getting that Garmin .Stay safe thank you !!! 🇵🇷
Black coroplast and reflectix for side windows. When its hot I put the reflectix facing out and when its cold I put the black coroplast side out. Just duck tape the two pieces together. Works and lasts and is cheap. Key word cheap.
Love my Garmin InReach! You'll like it! Note: Unlimited presets are da bomb!
You can't put be a Price on Love and safety it's priceless.
Hey Garmin sponsor Chrome! Stay safe out there!
I use the same things to black out my Grand Marquis. When I used to Urban stealth camp in my car... I still have them in my rear windows just because I like the blacked out window effect. Even though I'm not still camping anymore.
Awesome info thanks for sharing see yah Chrome and Cruz hugs always
Watching your videos made me missed more of Canada! Lovely place anywhere you go. Keep safe always!
Chrome. Thank you for sharing that ! Much love !
I love your coordination, those shoes & shirt 👌🏽. Awwwwe that Garmin device is cool!!! Don’t lose it.
That Garmin looks like a great device to use and money well spent. Sometimes the small things in life make us happy and is useful ✌🏽
Hello Chrome & Cruzie! I just hope you never HAVE TO use that device for an emergency!
Look for double side 3m extreme tape for $10 and anytime the tape wears off boom u have a whole roll
They’re a great peace of mind device. I’ve had my SPOT locator for a few years. Stay safe!
Yesssss this vlog inspires me to keep making movies!!! I am new to this channel but I’m staying!!! Good day today!
The Garmin's inhouse device looks and sounds really useful. Good call.
That device will save your life!!! Great purchase!!!
Even though I agree that you made a great purchase with the Garmin Inreach device, my first thought was "Yep, boys and their toys!" My husband does that too - getting all excited and caught up in the "new shiny" thing... Enjoy!
Nice addition to the arsenal of gear. Although the dash mount is nice and handy, when you’re driving in the rough weather and/or locations where you might need it, I recommend keeping it in a secure pocket on your person. I always do that with my cell phone in bad conditions because you know the mount is not likely to hold onto it in a rollover situation and then it’s vanished into the darkest corner of the vehicle where you might not be able to find it, let alone reach it.
I'm glad you got that device, we have wine of those things a bit bigger but it does the same. We lone to my father in law to go hunting on Colorado, will prefer for him not to go, but it make s him happy, and we got couple of message from him and it felt so good to know that he was safe.
Thank you for sharing your purchase and set up of the Garmin. I’ve been researching them and you helped me to decide how important these are when traveling. Also, to avoid tearing your window coverings, just put some electrical tape around the edges. The tape will also help them to stay up better in your windows.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I've been looking into Personal Safety Sevices and was unsure what to get. I have my phone but my friends and I live over 45 minutes away from anything cityish or cell towerish. We ensure we are okay everyday by text. The Garmin is perfect especially when we are "traveling by roads". Roads are usually gravel paths. Also much love to Cruisy. My Jelly and Caleb are small enough to shower with me but I'm sure they'd love a real bath like Cruise
Lovey colour. Love it. It looks great on you. Enjoy!
My dog loves ripping up tissues when I leave lol. On another note, my dog is 13 years old and I've never given her a bath 🤣
Great video, awesome purchase. Stay safe.
Chrome's all dressed up and baby gets a bath plus treats
Sweet device! I've been looking in to getting a Garmin as well. Thanks for sharing the info on the monthly plans. Safe travels. ✌
I enjoy your videos! I made black out panels with relectex, which I painted first with black tremclad. I bought a 2’ wide by 25’ roll. The panels fit great, friction fit, and can be folded or rolled up out of the way. Oh and tremclad covers WAY better than cheap spray paint. And reflectex is so easy to cut with scissors .
i been wanting a gps unit ever since they first came out, now i have two! my personal one and one for my truck / van / car !
LOVE Dixxon! I have that same one. Revolution!
Man I’m so glad I’ve discovered you bro, I so want that van life. I’ve just got to find out how I make it a a musician on the road in Australia and I’m in that van.
Stay healthy and be safe! Smart move on getting the Garmin when you could afford to make the investment.
