Preppers Utilise Your Storage Space And Stop Intruders Wiping You Out

A few suggestions for Preppers that have limited space for storing their preps, especially for those in the UK or those that just live in modest homes.
Additionally, why it pays to hide some essential kit just in case you have to Bug Out and upon your return the marauders or mutant zombie bikers haven't taken everything...

Love the videos and I agree with alot of this however as a qualified pest controller. Definitely do not store food under kitchen plinths or bath panels. I can tell you for free these are the most common areas of ingress if you have a rodent issue. 2 reasons firstly it's the point of ingress due to peoples pipes riddled with holes. Secondly both locations offer 2 ideal solutions food debris under plinths and water under bath. Add the fact internal homes are warmer than lofts in winter time and cooler in summer trust me when I say the prefer these areas over the loft. Loft activity is mainly due to a long standing issue and or because they can not gain access to internal property. I advise against these two areas for food preps I really do.

Appreciate your professional advice but what if you have no signs of rodent activity. I may/may not have stored tins in a storage box under plinths for a decade and never experienced an issue. Perhaps I've just been lucky? As always, thanks for watching and enjoy your weekend 👍

@@p2snetwork no absolutely fare comment. I'm just highlighting these areas are the front doors for rodent access internally. I think tins are safer than say bagged food I'd be more inclined to say tins under bath tub is not that bad however, one thing I worry more than if the pesky buggers get to my food it's that you can't necessarily see is urine especially on mice now if for example you retrieved said items with no gloves and didn't wash everything down then we start entering the risk of infection that's my big worry. This is one of the biggest risk of spreading of disease amongst supermarket stock when they have a shop or a warehouse with a rodent issue as some one who works in the industry shops are required by law when we tell them to get rid even if the food looks okay for example. Only Recently b&m was fined £1m for failure of this. By the way no way is this a criticism just to highlight things people may not be aware of. As always love the videos

@@ricric4731 fully appreciate your advice mate. And yes, we should disinfect. Id be especially wary if I spotted rodent poop around my stocks. Take care.

@@p2snetwork no problem aye it's the urine you need to worry about not the poo unless you eat em 🤣. By the way I've just looked at my sofa 👏👏 I've never once thought of that it's actually got a Velcro slit just looked in and wow absolutely can get a half decent amount in these haha. This is why I think your channel and content is above anyone else's 👍 Hope you recover well buddy

I've thought about putting some small items in each wall vent. A can of Tuna and a life straw, perhaps. Just something small that won't affect the airflow, but in case of the worst case scenario (door to door prep confiscation) you would still have something. I was in the military during the large world event of a few years ago and saw boxes of highly in-demand medical equipment that had been confiscated from hospitals.

Get better soon! Some people suggest using large plastic plumbing pipe. They fill the pipe, seal both ends properly and then bury it. There’s also a kind of screw lid for 5 gallon paint buckets although I have’t seen those here in the EU. People do bury those but the pipes look more watertight and durable.

Cheers mate, I'm back to normal now and annoying the good lady 😂😂 Waste pipes (large diameter grey plastic) are good. Just don't forget where you buried them 😂 Worse case scenario must be having to flee your home, returning and finding you've been looted and lost all your food. So having a cache in or around your property, along with a few tools is the way forward. Even a full change of clothes in the garden shed helps if you have to evacuate due to fire and sleep naked... Hope you are well, keep safe.

Found the video. Grey Bearded Green Beret is the channel. “Hiding Caches S1E7” and “Cache Contents S1E6” This guy is the real thing. He also has the best video on how to use a ferro rod I’ve ever seen. Didn’t know I was doing it wrong!

Rodents especially love to chew plastic including poly plumb piping and storage boxes. They also love nesting materials such as loo roll. Found this when my boiler kept loosing pressure and christmas trimmings and more had been infiltrated lol. It is not all plastic storage as they are selective. Would be worth knowing what types to avoid for this. If anyone knows, please share! Thanks for the info though as you have got me thinking about things.
