Ойын-сауық

Our 11 herbs & spices are such a mystery; they won't even tell me what they are 🙃
So to help fill my curiosity void (steady...), we sent Will Richards to meet some interesting people with, shall we say, interesting thoughts on the world... 👀
How would you prepare for the end of the world? 🤔

This wilderness prepper guy is the first sane person on this show, I think. He makes some valid points and hey, it is not a bad hobby even if the world does not go pear-shaped. But I gotta ask, beans or gravy? BEANS? Is british KFC different than the US one? Because here they just give cabbage salad and BBQ sauce to it. Beans just sounds... weird.

"Capitalizing on people's fears." The guy is just teaching bushcraft, his business is completely unrelated to prepping. I also find it really interesting that prepping is something people think it a conspiracy or weird, everyone ever until our day and age has prepped because they needed to to survive, it's really sad that so many people think it's for doomsday theorists and don't realize how fragile our world really is, and how susceptible to hardship we are.

I have to disagree with Remmy here. Plant based high protein foods are a fairly recent invention brought to us by society dependent technology such as protein refining. A single chicken can convert most plant matters into protein. Fishing, hunting and herding are time proven and do not necessitate a permanent settlement that requires year round defence if the shit hits the fan. If you aren't a farmer, charismatic negotiator, doctor, tough guy or a handyman the chances are low you are useful in rebuilding the agricultural industry. For most of us the skills to survive to the point where these few people can kickstart society and industry provide the most safety for time and money spent.

@@ArimaSenne1 Not quite sure how well lentils grow in the USA with small scale technology. I would love to see the yields by acre, work and fertilizer in other climates. Even if I concede these requirements lentils still require permanent settlement, defence of the crop, fresh water and specialists while as as an example bunch of chickens can convert bugs, grass and leftovers into eggs, barter goods in the form of mature chickens and are mobile. While noble and principled the vegan strategy in theory sounds like a magnitude harder task viable for less people. People have struggles staying vegan for years one reason being the costs of properly nutritious diet. In the event of a massive reduction in production caused by a breakdown of the modern structures it would seem like a stretch that this is viable in many climates.

@@ArimaSenne1 Basically any prepper looking to do enough farming would need let's say 10 acres(my calculations make less and less sense 10 acres is huge and sources vary so much) of fertile farm land to produce enough for one to eat and trade(if we wanted to forego trade and do subsistence farming, three hectacres might be possible if you have extensive survival food stocks, but I assume we want to live a little more comfortably) for farming essentials and protection. This property should be close enough to an abundant fresh water. A horse to produce manure and multiply your work. A few acres for grazing say 3 acres? One living hut, a small stable, manure storage a toolshed, crop storage and drying. This can easily cost over 100k while some survival skills, equipment, bugout van, multiple hidden food caches and barter items could be acquired under 10k. A difference of a magnitude.

bro this lady needs off her high horse like jeez the guy seems really genuine about just wanting to teach people skills but shes just so absolutely stuck on the idea that people would actually want to do that. like cmon man survival skills can be a genuine help to someone experiencing mental health issues as it can help establish a baseline of hey youre not trash you can do x or y. how are you so pressed about this mans job yet ur idea of an escape when shit hits the fan is somehow traveling internationally

Because she felt small and challenged by the fact that he has proven himself in the debate/discussion by the fact that he can support himself by teaching survival skills. She placed herself on the defensive side and found a way to be offended. She kept begging the question and used straw man tactics to try to corner the guy and find a way to destroy his character.

Ok so my first thought was this is really civil which was kinda odd to me cause one looks like your typical hipster I know better than you vegan, and the other is a kind of stereotype rough an tough survival man that lives off the grid 5 miles outside of town. But than the girl gets all butt hurt about him teaching people how to survive because they wanted to learn which is when my second thought came to me. Which was.....THIS BIZARRE SHIT IS BEING THROWN AROUND BY KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN
