I'm in the line of the total eclipse and with the exception of an influx of people coming in to watch it I'm not stressing. I'll go to work and then go home and see what happens.

I don't think it's the eclipse we have to question, it's the multiple possibilities of potential soft targets by the many unknowns that have crossed u know what. Traffic will be slowed to begin with but causing some kind of chaotic , emergency event will make it worse. Stay home, stay safe they'll show it on TV.

I wonder if it could be used as an excuse for something else. That's my concern.

You never need an excuse or a reason to prepare.. get prepped up, that way it doesnt matter so much whats going on around you.

A complete solar eclipse just produces a brief period of darkness. We have far longer episodes of darkness each night. The electric grid will still work during the eclipse. Turn on a light if the brief darkness bothers you. If you happen to be in a geographic location where there is going to be a complete solar eclipse, go to a place where there are a lot of wild birds, find a comfortable seat and do some bird watching. When it starts getting dark, they will roost in trees just like it is a regular sunset. Then, when the sun begins to emerge from behind the moon's shadow after a brief darkness, the birds will do their morning wake-up calling. Watched this happen years ago in a Honolulu park that had lots of mynah birds that all briefly roosted in the coco palms and then went on about their daytime birdy business.

I don't think anything major is going to happen on that day, but I am betting there will be a new Madrid earthquake because of it, within a few months. That alignment thing does seem to have an effect on geographic areas. Biblically, it's supposed to start in a town called Jonah in the US, then pass through a town called Nineva in the US and then Canada town called Ninevah. You should grab a copy of the Bible and read the story of Jonah. Sooo many other biblical connections. It's a warning of some kind. Tons of things going on in the sky too. Not just the eclipse. In the Bible, God continually talks about signs in the sky. Likely to be an omen...

Shutting down schools and some businesses are to allow families to enjoy this amazing event which is cool I drove from Colorado into Wyoming three hours for the 2017 eclipse a few friends left an hour of so after the eclipse and it took them over 9 hours to drive back I hung out and left at 4:30am and drove home with nearly no traffic at all This is why they’re worried it will be packed for quite a few hours prior and afterwords

Just Mother Nature doing her thing. I have 2 minutes and 30 seconds of totality at my house. To drive, fight crowds, get stipulated in traffic, and perhaps worse, for the extra 2 minutes more, is crazy and I will not do it!

What worries me are people and how they react/overreact. Thankfully the travel path isn't anywhere near me or my family.

Sending prayers to all just be mindful and protect you and yours. I live in the direct path and will guard my home and family thanks for the advice and your wisdom.

I live in the Carbondale Illinois area, we’re in the direct path and estimated 4min of totality. Pretty cool but I’m gunna be home and on guard for sure. I’m making my children and immediately family hang at my place. We’re on 48 acres of Shawnee Forest and it’s the safest place to be rather than be in town with all the common folk lol. I dont think anything major will happen but we’ll be ready if it does. Stay safe everyone and enjoy the sight.

I live in eastern Oregon and was in line for the last eclipse a couple years ago. It was fun and nothing happened. What I thought was weird about this most recent eclipse is that there's a lot of talk about power outages. I work at an onion packing shed in eastern Oregon and at 1pm on Monday the Government want us to stop packing and turn off the main power because we draw so much and there's a concern.

I'm in Texas, in the path of totality. No big deal I've got my viewing glasses that's all that's needed.

Hi George, I agree with you a 4-minute eclipse, should not cause to much worry. The reason some people are showing more concern lies in the ecclesiastical anomalies. Research gathered. from other videos on YT. The first islands to experience the eclipse are Maria Madre, Maria Magdalena, and San Juan …..Mother Mary, Mary Magdalene and St John at the foot of the cross. After these islands one of the first cities in Mexico to experience the eclipse is EL ROSARIO = The Rosary. Also, The Solemnity of the Annunciation is usually March 25th. It has been moved to April 8th by the church . In the Us the 6 or 7 cites in the direct path of the eclipse are named Jonah and then 6 cites of Nineveh. I will let everyone decide for themselves. If anything happens during the eclipse, I would be stuck at work at a grocery store. My biggest concern with the eclipse is people looking up at the eclipse without proper glasses, or people looking for it while driving figuring people are that stupid. Watch the road, and traffic when driving.

I live in the beautiful part of NY, worse that going to happen is, it's going to be cloudy and probably snow. So we won't get to see it anyway.

Schools are closed in our area and in Niagara region we are expecting over a million visitors…… ugh

I’ve checked in with this on several sources number one several days before the eclipse there will be plant alignment with three planets which possibly could affect gravitational pole. Number two we have been having severe solar flares, which again it’s our atmosphere number three, CERN and IN their infinite wisdom are going to fire up The machine they are hoping that they can stabilize mini black holes. Number four with the solar eclipse again it may have some effect on gravitational pole. That’s why all the concern about getting your prescriptions having extra food water things that are essential the kids are being let out of school in my opinion is so if they look at the eclipse and they don’t have glasses it’s on their parents not the school.because everybody is anticipating this once in a century event.Some of there’s things are scientific hypotheses. I’m in larger area that is also in totality and so far expects clear weather. My concern is traffic jams and gridlock after the event when everyone wants to leave. It should be over before afternoon school traffic and commuter traffic gear up.

just an added comment, what you have shown (which is great it could start a prep for someone) but this is only a 2 minute and 30 second event. if i need to go full prepping for this (cook food on butane fuel, freeze dried food) weel it would be a good test for your benifit. (yes for a whole 2 minutes and 30 seconds.) good job Iridium (not being sarcastic) just preping is importent for all events even if for practice and once bought it's not like well that was useless got to throw it away now.

Been to many lunar and solar eclipses. We used to put sooth on clear glass and use them to view solar eclipse or use the negative strips of a camera film or even use regular sunglasses when I was younger and I can still damn see clearly up to now. It is not even special where I came from and life goes on like always. And yes, there will always be doomsday naysayers every single time. Same old sh...different day.
