The straight cut still let's you use it as a blanket because you're not left with a huge round hole in the centre

I love these ponchos. I make a couple for us to use when we go somewhere in our camper. Or to an outdoor nighttime concert.

03/13/2023,,✌🏼 i bought for $20/ea,,80% wool rescue blankets and for sure I am going to cut a hole for poncho. but a little bit longer in back like 57/43 and then sew a special PolarFleece hood on👍🏼 and inside chest pockets👍🏼

Thank you I was looking for something like this, now all I have to do is knit or crochet a 70 x 44 piece find the middle do the neck row and carry on. Voila I will have a knitted pancho for a man. Love your pancho by the way.

NO! Jorongo are the SARAPES with a hole in the middle. GABANS=Ponchos. The width is the difference between a Jorongo and a Gaban.

Yes! In the Andean region at 10.000 feets; they are use to cover the windows. Basically as the Russians use their heavy carpets.
