On March 1, 2024, the PFF held an open training session for the Men's National Football Team in preparation for the World Cup Qualifying matches against Iraq later this month. With the excitement of seeing the team back in action under the guidance of newly-appointed head coach Tom Saintfiet brewing in the air, I decided to head to the Rizal Memorial Stadium to take it all in! 😄

Shame with Philippines Football facilities the grass is not even real and fake. so outdated and no improvement. Even Iraq got so much better big and new Stadium. Time to build a new football stadium in the Philippines! Philippines team and football fans deserve better.

And we’ll get to that point soon, but it’ll be long term. You have to remember that compared to Iraq, our ASEAN neighbors, and pretty much lots of other countries, football is not as popular. There’s so much to improve not just with infrastructure, but from the grassroots level and up. We’re not at the level where we can afford to build a 65K stadium just yet, let alone even fill that number, and I’m sure every Filipino football fan would want nothing more than to have that. But with the domestic league growing and growing, fan turnouts for UAAP games and the Filipinas, the recent attendances for our last matches against Vietnam and Indonesia, football is growing here at a good pace. It’ll take a while, but the sport here is growing very steadily and we’ll get there eventually ❤️
