Hi I wanted to know the better way of storing Alfalfa hay .. 1. Storing it inside plastic bags with sealed mouth. 2. Inside any room without plastic bags.

I planted alfalfa 2 years in a row and grew a very healthy robust crop up thistles both times. I'm fixing to just bushhog the dang field. How much could I sue the alfalfa company for for selling me thistles instead of alfalfa? Heck of a lot of work and money for nothing.

The same field I planted about a half acre sunflower seeds on one end and worked it the same way as I did the alfalfa. It's nice and clean and the sunflower plants are growing real nice and no thistles. The rest of the field is nothing but thistles where the "alfalfa" starts on over.

Do you have to re-seed every year?

No. You don't. Usually, good alfalfa species need re-seeding every 5 to 7 years max. In my experience on my homestead, I re-seed every 5 years. You'll notice by the year 3 and 4 that the land will have patches of missing alfalfa and weak growing overall. But the first 3 years, a good harvesting is 4-5 cuts per year. So you can stack lots of alfalfa for cows, kickens, goats etc.

You know, after listening to over 10 hours per day (Monday-Friday) of KZread videos (while I work) given by Dr. Elaine Ingham, Ray Archuletta, Gabe Brown and a host of other doctors and soil biologists, I'm amazed at how wrong we've been doing everything for so long! If people only knew that every time we even do something as small as till, we're murdering the microbes within the soil that feed the plants that feed us, thus releasing nitrogen to which awakens the dormant weed seeds giving them exactly what they need to wake and take over our lands and thrive. Then they turn around and pour inorganic chemicals to kill the weeds that are taking over their land so that they can "grow food". Your comment on alfalfa on cancer, is right on!

La Alfalfa tiene un gran nivel nutricional para los animales rumiantes... Aquí en Venezuela vamos a comenzar los primeros ensayos en rumiantes menores, caprinos y ovinos.
