I’ve been watching you for around 6 years and love how you’ve become involved in the sporting world! I love this breed but would never be able to keep up with their needs! I current own a small mix breed (owner trained assistance dog) and looking into getting a miniature or standard poodle as a new prospect for assistance work! I’d love to do some dock diving one day! Do you ever get uneducated people calling your preparation for events cruel?

Hello. I have been enjoying your videos for 2-3 years now. At what age did you start training Venus for the Stafford Olympics? Is there a minimum age to compete?

I heard You mention that your Dog Lost a Tooth at a year or year and a Half! There is something that not every dog Owner knows...especially about Dogs that come from figjting lineage and are known for Biting strength. I see people swinging Puppies on a rope or playing tug-O-War with a Sock. That is fine until all their Needle (Puppy) teeth come out. But when their Adult Teeth Start to come in all Big, Beautiful, and White...You cannot let the Dog Play Tug-o-war or even more importantly, let it hang from a rope and support all its weight with its NEW Teeth! There is a soft Socket of Calcium Around the Adult Canine Teeth, and otjer Teeth that are for hard biting. Amd it takes about 1 Year to 2 for it to Harden and Secure that Teeth Deep in the Socket so it is well Anchored...and xan withstand the Tremendous force They create while biting, chewing and Shaking! Dont get me wrong...1 or 2 missing teeth will certainly NOT Stop a Staffy by any Means and you would even know or notice they werw gone. Nor would it Impede in its biting ability if it were a working staffy or affect its ability to Hold onto whatever its favorite toy is... or Even a Hog for that Matter!!

The Only Lack of "Confidence" in terms of bite work...is In You!!! A Broken tooth or even several misssing Teeth will Not affect a staffys ability to bite and Hold! And they are absolutely , Completely "unaware" of the fact that they are Gone! And Lastly...to Let the Dog "Win every time" is ridiculous and detrimental romthe Dog! If anything you should work it harder! Dont project your feelings on your Animal! They are better designed to do what they do than we are

I get where youre coming from but not every dog is mentally hard. Two of mine are, but this fawn girl is not. I’m well aware of development of their dentition. She broke the canine at 18 months due to running into an obstacle. She is fairly weak and insecure and has always been that way. My others couldnt give a rat’s a about pain or struggle. But a dog who has lacked confidence from the get go, who breaks a tooth with severe impact, can suffer trauma responses. In order to build that confidence back up, winning IS necessary. For this particular dog, it works best. I have an MSc degree in canine stress and aggression and i’ve worked sports/ and game bred bull type terriers for a good while now. A good stafford or pit would not suffer these consequences but not every dog is perfectly mentally sound in that sense. You must agree that there are plenty curs going round ;)
