As a retired nurse, please guys don’t just buy these items READ, take a CPR class even if you’ve been certified in the past! Practice learning all of these skills BP cuff= you will need several sizes, small=children medium and large. Learn the average norm for ages groups and sometimes even weight but a thin person can have a high number and a large or over weight person can have a BP in range. Check your city/county for classes EMT, CPR, first aide! Geez I hope U T doesn’t mess with this post. They have before 😡. Be safe and keep learning!!!

That’s great we need awesome nurses! I would recommend starting as a certified nurses aide also called a patient care technician. Generally only up to six weeks training and sometimes less. That would be a great place for you to start. You would know if you like a job or not

A key benefit you didn't mention with respect to Jase regard to Rx meds is that it allows one to obtain a 360-day supply. For someone on maintenance meds for chronic chronic conditions, insurance usually allows no more than a 90-day supply.

I would recommend saline eye wash and eye patches. Tweezers for removing splinters and/or other debris. Also, liquid benedryl for anaphylaxis due to stings and/or severe allergic reaction. Or epi pen, if you’re allergic to bees, etc. possibly a surgical kit and stuff to clean wounds, like alcohol, iodine or hydrogen peroxide.

On top of all the large "Totes" I have filled up with 2x2, 3x3 and 4x4 gauze pads through the years, I have also collected a pretty good size collection of 5x9 gauze pads. If I were to start today, I would buy 4x4 and 5x9 only, but I have been doing this for many years. The old gauze pads I have packed away will still be sterile unless opened or get wet. Be prepared and be safe my friends.

Great video, thanks for sharing, one book i would add is a medical dictionary for people like me who don't read medical so well, And i would like to add, you stress that these items are for use after teotwawki, which is true, but it is not only for individual use, but if you goto a Dr who is out of supplies, then they can't help you, so though i may not be qualified to do sutures, i want gloves, iodine, suture kits etc. to give to the people who are qualified, but the supply line is cut.

Question in regard of stockpiling prescription medications (heart, diabetes, BP, diuretic, Etc.) - (most of which are stupid expensive) what is the average shelf life before these are no longer effective? Do they ever become "poison" to take, or do they just lose strength? I've searched and found various pieces of information. Your thoughts? Thanks,

What are your feelings on the vac device to remove an obstruction in the airway? Are they effective? Do they do additional damage? My grandson, 11 months old at the time, choked and turned blue. I’m still amazed at how quickly he turned blue. I remembered my first aid training and was able to dislodge the obstruction, but I wondered what I would do if I couldn’t. This was even more traumatic for me due to a little one I know losing her life a few months earlier when she choked on a little, rubber ball.

1lb propane tanks. Price per gallon in the 1lb containers is outrageous. Do 20lb propane tanks or bigger, and a converter hose to mimic the 1 lb tank. Refilling can work, but having cases of 6 of the 1lb tanks doesn't help. The rubber in their seals at the top dry out and then leak upon first use and after. Have external propane brass caps and seals too. OMG, it's a whole ecosystem to support 1lb propane tanks, just forget it.
