@@WeskAlber IIRC you could upgrade previous xpac tomestone gear with the item itself plus 100 poetics to get the "Augmented" version once the new xpac drops. For example you could trade in the "Cryptlurker's Elmo of Fending" + 100 poetics to get the "Augmented Cryptlurker's Elmo of Fending" from the vendor in Eulmore the day Endwalker went live. That's what I'm hoping will be available once DT hits since I have all 650 gear now and don't feel like grinding out alliance raids. . .

They better invite you to the media tour this time, i've seen smaller creators than you get invited for EW's tour which was unexpected.

There's one massive thing you missed, and that's Bozja. Even if it's primarily designed as a 71-80 grind, the exp gotten from the rapid clearing of Skirmishes and Critical Engagements in Bozja is amazing and still serves and one of, if not the best tool to grind from 80-90. The second map in particular, Zandor and its final zone serves as a great low effort means of mindlessly getting yourself up to 90. Best of all, the gear synch means all gear sans Augmented Runners and Laws Order is equal... You don't even need to prepare 80-89 gear for Viper and Pictomancer and just use a basic level 1 set. It also is not at the mercy of DPS queues, which we know is going to be completely atrocious come Dawntrail launch. It's an instantly popped shared zone you can enter. So for new players or those that have not completed Bozja, I would absolutely recommend finishing it at minimum and if possible getting some rays to increase defence and damage output.

I was intentionally not including it because I did use it for some leveling in EW. it felt really slow toward 80. So up to 90 seemed not worth it. I'll take your word for it though.

@@WeskAlber It's best when joining when it's most active, when it's at the point where you're running into a Skrimish, pressing 1-2 GCDs and then it's over before moving onto the next Skirmish. This is generally achieved by having multiple people (hopefully yourself too) with 10 damage rays and even better if you're running Augmented Laws Order for some crazy haste.

I leveled most of my alt jobs in Bozja from 71-90 (because I had a disgustingly loaded holster and full emblems) and in my experience 71-80 was tedious but 80-90 was a breeze. Not sure why the experience multipliers worked that way but whatever. I think Picto and Viper will have a comfy time hitting 90 in Bozja/Zadnor but no idea how fast they'll level up 90-100. We'll have to wait and see.

Yep Bozja is very good especially for DPS. The queues for DPS are bad now imagine once the 2 new DPS comes out. Bozja is far better for DPS classes.

Your guides are always an entertaining watch, even though I have absolutely no need for any of them. Its so comfy how in-depth you are about everything and going over absolutely everything you'd need or wanna know. Which is to say, good stuff like always, Wesk c:

FYI, you can make sure to stockpile a day of askasodara quests for your main on the 25th. You'll be able to do them AND another 3 on launch day. I'll be stockpiling the gatherer and crafter ones too. You can also save the daily hunt bills; typically the beast tribes + the hunt bills = another entire level for 80-89 that can be done while in queues. While it has been the case in the past that hunt currencies have been replaced after two expacs, you can never be certain this will continue to be the case, and it can't hurt to save a healthy amount. And DEF use those wolf marks to get a quickie dawntrail title, like makai viper or pictomancer. Save a little nestegg of base materials for the endwalker crafts as well, and use them to swiftly fullfill GC deliveries when you land. As long as you don't go above level 90 prior to them resetting, it will be an at or below level 90 craft. Those can be a huge head start on exp when HQ. Sleep on levequests after June 13th, so you can have a full stack going into dawntrail. You'll want to save as many as you can for that proper speedlevelling. Oh, yeah. SAVE DYES. WE'RE GETTING MORE DYE SLOTS.

If you’re levelling a pre-existing class, you can prepare some tribal quests before maintenance for a quick bump of XP. Won’t work for Viper or Pictomancer, but still useful

My GOSH this is detailed! Thanks Wesk! I probably won't pick up one of the new Jobs, but I can use this on my main trio (one of each role) to help out with leveling. In EW, when I finished the MSQ, I had SCH, SMN, and GNB at level 90 so I was ready to help out my FC/friends no matter what they needed as soon as everyone started doing end-game stuff. I'll probably do that again (SCH/SMN is so efficient, it's lovely...if one can play SCH well, anyway). Then I leveled MCH and NIN so I could do the other role quests. This information will be super useful, so thanks!

hahaha yes it is efficient. I can't play SCH even a little, but I used my SCH for the Shadowbringers role quests. Since I play everything but healers it was my only option. Despite my complete incompetence on Scholar, it was so worth it for the story. It's one time I appreciated the weird outdated and probably will be reworked someday SMN/SCH link.

for those that do savage raiding there will be lvl 90 ilvl 665 weapons for viper and pictomancer added with dawntrail, so if you want to you can hold on 2 weapon coffers (16 books) or 1 coffer + 8 books from p12s and then open them on the respective jobs. Edit: corrected ilvl my bad 😅 EDIT2: remember to use /busy to make sure nobody can tell/whisper you spoilers because that can and will happen.

To add, this also applies to e12s for lv 80 weapons so you don't have to dump poetics out of the gate.

You could also load up the rest of your quest journal with any endwalker sidequest not yet completed since they can be turned in on any job as long as they're in the level bracket.

Thanks for the tips! One minor thing - if it's like it was in Endwalker, the old tome exchange will be a 1/2 ratio; the 1/4 seems to be the one they use for exchange to 'current' tomestones. So if you have 2000 each of causality and comedy going into DT, that should give you 2000 extra poetics total, allowing you to buy both the level 80 and 90 main hands for the new jobs when combined with the 2K poetics you have on-hand going in. Happy leveling!

I genuinely don't think arkasodara should be a "if you're really desperate" option here, they give easily half a level at 80 and take less than 10 minutes to complete, and you can be doing them alongside your 6 FATEs while waiting for your leveling roulette queue to pop. Hell, even Pixies give 1/5 of a level at 80 and take even less time to do. Between WT and those 2, you'll easily be 81 going into your leveling roulette

This is the one I’ve been waiting for! Picto fast despite probably not being able to get into the servers on the pre launch days waiting on queue! I have an Eden’s promise weapon coffer for picto just in case. P12s too for level 90

This is a great guide, thank you. I'll be splitting the exp over both new jobs so I can dungeon spam asap :) I'll also be completing all the low level sidequests in EW zones to turn in on new jobs. Probably not a lot of exp but might be worth it 🤔

An extra suggestion, Daily Hunt Marks. Stock up on Shadowbringers and Endwalker targets so you can double up on them on early access for a good chunk of exp. Also, I know the Arkasodara tribe was mentioned, but the Pixie tribe is still decent exp for literally no effort.

Thank you for dumbing down the leves so I didn't have to do use my smoothbrain (accidentally gave 5 commendations and did 3 random duties since I was bored and wanted to farm a few tomes).

For crafter and gatherers you can have the EW gc turn in items prepped and turn them in when you log in as well.

That thumbnail is a 10/10, no notes And damn that's thorough guide! The only thing I could think off to add is silly - coming up with a new glam (and optionally haircut). I still have no idea what I'm going to use that fits both the weather of Tural and my character's personality... I guess there are websites for planning that stuff I could visit but I just haven't bothered 😅

another option that I plan on doing is to save turning everything in immediately and start leveling in Zadnor instead. with Viper and Pictomancer both starting at 80 you can immediately go into these zones and start leveling, then when you're near the end you can turn everything in for the big XP boost in the final levels

4:48 There is only one scenario in which you should hand the book in: The extremely rare case in which you get three lines. Because you can only get Golden Certificates with at least one Max level job. 14:02 If you're playing Viper or Pictomancer, I'd also recommend doing some Pixie Fates. Sure, it is much less than the Arkosodora quests, but it still gives a decent chunk at level 80. 16:39 Something else to potentially spend Trophy Crystals on are Virtu glam sets for Viper and Pictomancer in case you really want to use their job gear before level 100 as all the Virtu sets we currently have (aside from ARR jobs) use a version of said job's first set of job gear with a different colour palette. Though we don't yet know whether this'll be implemented, it doesn't hurt to keep it in mind. Something else I think will be of interest to anyone with all their crafters at level 90: Save up your Grand Company Seals so you can use them to get a bunch Grade 9 Dark Matter to repair gear above level 90. And in case you want some neat looking glam options for your Viper and Pictomancer weapons, save up some resources to get one of their Deep Dungeon weapon options from Palace of the Dead (white glow or red/black glow), Heaven-on-High (bright orange glow) and/or Eureka Orthos (white or black Allagan style weapons).

I think the book rewards are locked from the moment the book itself is handed out, which would mean that you would still get the three lines reward even during Dawntrail. This is why the books from before a patch where the tomestones shift do not hand out the discontinued tomes and they get replaced with poetics instead. It'd be the first book AFTER Dawntrail launches (at least) that would not hand you the Gold Certificate and that wouldn't change even after you get a job to level 100. And yes, I do live in fear of getting the three lines during that specific week of the expansion.

I've got zero rush to level the new jobs. They seem fun and I'll play/level them eventually. Right out the gate I'll play tank/healer to give everyone else an easier time instead, lmao.

One nice thing about the tribals is that you can prep those for your current main job too. Pixies are passable exp (1m or so at 89 from all 3), so even just prepping them alongside the Arkasodara give a pretty big exp drop you can get on a single drop even if you only just turn them in

...I literally forgot you can store these. You can even do these like, NOW even. You can't complete it and give the exp to a different job, but if you want to boost your Main Job a little right out the gate, store some for launch day.

I’ll be doing the same I did for the last expansion and hold on to my weapon coffer and books from p12s once the new jobs hit 90.

One thing I’d like to add: While you’re leveling either new job, be sure to pick up lvl 90s gear for whatever job you’ll do after them and the msq.

I'm highly anticipating the Viper guide so I can actually figure out how to play the class properly. Without your help I'd be so lost on so many of my jobs

One massive thing i'd say you missed is EW daily hunts, they give 3m exp and is something to pick up before maint, hunt those while you're in queue, pick up another before launch day's daily reset, and a 3rd after the daily reset on launch day for a total of 9m(-ish) exp. It only takes 6m exp to go from 80-81 (rounded up), 6.2m for 81-82, 7m for 82-83, etc so all together that's more than a full level while you're stuck in dps queues. As you said, the value might change if there's a stat squish, but the percentage wont.

One more prep thing, you can hold 30 quests, go to one of the zones (Labyrinthos) and do 29 of the synced quests but dont turn them in. That leaves 1 quest open to unlock one of the new jobs, turn the quests in on that new job and its another half level. Did that on Sage when EW came out, one Wonderous tale s book and 29 synced quests got me a level.

Supposedly you can do endwalker side quests in preparation and hold off turning them in till after you unlock the new classes. They allow you to turn them in on any class assuming you are the same level of the quest on any job. Seems like a lot of free xp if you can deal with the brute forcing side quests in advance.

If you are a masochist like me and did Aloalo Savage, keep an Elevated Ester. Since the Exquisite weapons are just upgraded tome weapons, there is a non-zero chance Viper and Picto might get shiny versions too, potentially another option for a nice weapon right away alongside E12/P12S.

Book turn ins are best saved for either lv 99 or monday evening before reset for best xp rewards. The amount you get scales with your level when you turn it in

Already got gear for both jobs set aside, with a gearset set up for each. :P

I'm honestly leveling up NIN as well to just get a feel for a Scouting class as a first timer, but still it may also be a double up on it cuz I also am saving any Eden gear for Ninja and Pictomancer cuz of my playstyles

The Moen's Merchant vendor near the Crystarium Aetheryte--and I'm assuming Rowena is gonna get another one in Old Sharlayan--are much easier to navigate vendors for Tomestone Gear because it has a functional merchant menu that's easier to sort through instead of going to Eulmore or I am once again assuming, Radz-at-Han. They condense those myriad merchants into one convenient menu right next to the expansions major Aetherytes is great.

Something else you can do for ~1/2 a level's worth of EXP when Dawntrail drops is pick up 29 side quests in one of the endwalker zones and complete them without handing them in - on launch day once you've picked up viper or picto, you can quickly hand all of them in for another little burst! It took me about an hour to prepare, and will take maybe 5 minutes to hand in so to me that's worth it for the EXP you get

another thing you can do is prepare max sidequests also at lvl 80 pixie beast tribes should give a bit of xp

Temple leves really aren't worth the cost. if you at all want to level Gather/Craft in DT, those leves are far better spent on those.

i'll just do dungeons with bots, taking it easy and learning rotations while also rotating the bots to get to 91 so 91-100 with trusts is easier.

I think for me I don't want to prepare a whole lot for my first expansion drop. I've been playing pretty solidly for just over 2 years, so I'm kinda excited about it just smacking me the face a bit at 640 lol.

Hear me out: 1 wondrous tails x2 or challenge log+beast tribe 2 at 82 ->zadnor last zone fates(until you hit 85) 3 roulletes and dungeons +beast tribe reset Hit lv 90 and start dawntrial, thats it. Like and subscribe 👍

At 900 cap now, i dont think its too late to get all the 90 gear is it? We still have 9 weeks left

For levequests, my personal go to are big Templar ones in Ishgard. They do cost a lot (10 points per 1 quest), but they also give better exp (and money!!) than any other battle leve. True, it's not much for lvl 70+ jobs, but anyway a better boost than regular and low lvl leves. Just don't accept pacification ones, because monsters are one-shottable here, and we do need to "soothe" them at low hp% :(

They give LESS exp overall. The trade off is cost for less active use of leves. But if you want more exp, you do more leves. And as you said, these starting at 80? The difference between these level 20 leves and level 60 leves is non-existent. Temple leves also are longer. Not 10 leves long, but takes up more time than doing the 4 easy leves.

I personally do leve challenge only week one to squeeze as much exp as I can for my main job (WHM, I'm prepping them slowly now), and never EVER do them again till next expansion lol. Afterwards it's just dungeon/roulette spamming + weekly fates and occasional beast tribe quests even for dps jobs, 'cause I'm a dungeon maniac, mostly xD But I'm also levelling up two jobs simultaneously during EA, WHM via preps/dungeons/etc. ("asap" mode) and a dps (RDM) via MSQ (chill mode w/ trusts), so... long story short, looks like my brain has some unexplainable Hildy shenanigans of its own :D

I will be leveling by solo deep dungeons. not the fastest but definitely fun

Guess Eureka Orthos isn't ideal for getting from 81-90? Queues have been pretty abysmal. I returned after everyone pretty much finished it.

I am a little late to the party on this one, but if its like Reaper, they are going to give you level 80 gear for your left side, just no accs. So you might want to save Poetics in that case.

@@WeskAlber True, not by much though. And you can probably scavenge up left side replacements in dungeons. Poetics would be better, but if you are short on poetics or dont have time to farm them. Just an option.

Most important of all, of all the things shown in the video, only do the things you have fun with, lest you risk optimizing the fun of the game for you and turning it into a job. The game isn't going anywhere and you're not missing out anything.

honestly i would suggest keeping wanderers trail for level 89, rather than 80 Also one important thing u missed was sidequests. You can stock up a full questlog and then sent them all in at dawntrail release for about half a level also for 81-90, waht about the deep dungeon?

It depends on how much you prepare. For those that dont stock up on quests, turning in wandering tails to get to 81 is very good. That is because you can start doing dungeons right away. It really depends on the player, how much they prepared, what their goals are.. etc...

Wouldnt doing a pvp match also help with lvling your job? Irrc you get a hefty amount of exp by jumping into a pvp queue on the job you wanna lvl.

It won't be pre-set, but if you just buy the Scouting armor and Aiming accessories beforehand, you can just hit the Recommended Gear button once you've unlocked Viper and it'll slot everything in for you. Then, just assign your new Viper set.

It's fixed. When you spend 2 and a half years writing EW over and over...

You don't need to learn the new job's pvp toolkits since you can just queue into FL as them then swap off to any other job you want. You only get exp on the job you queue in with.

Like I've said to others, when I used it in early EW it didn't seem that great once you hit 80. But clearly there's a lot of love for it as a leveling option. Though people also often said PotD was amazing leveling exp when it was decent, not amazing. So I also mentally shutout these kinda things a lot.

@@WeskAlber Bozjan is definitely the best if you have the right set up it's the fastest, I have tested and got the results playing about 6-8 hours a day back to back with 4 characters, maxed out leveling all classes and jobs including crafters and gatherer's to 90 about 1 week after patch 6.1 dropped.

For the very new players, don't worry about it too much. You'll hit the new level cap by the time you hit the end of the story. Even the best in slot savage/ultimate raid gear will be beaten by 5-6 levels into the new expansion with free gear from completing quests and missions, or buying from NPC's, unless SE changes something from all previous expansions.

Guildhests are being removed. Is that part still valid?

I have seen no confirmations of this anywhere.

TP Tickets would be my suggestion. Do ARR hunt bills and turn the currency from it for the tickets. it takes very little time to complete it.

"If your FC isn't rich enough........." each grade 3 wheel takes 3 days to prime, 1 at a time. the crafts are level 50 and not that hard. it's not a finance thing unless you're lazy. it's a Time and prep thing like all others.
