Preparing For A Crossing [Ep 11]

Welcome to another episode of Sailing Magic Carpet. In this episode, we prepare to cross to Menorca, a distance of 200 nautical miles, which takes about 50 hours in our boat. We show you a little bit about anchoring and passage planning as well.
Plus, there's some more violin music -- I have LOVED all your comments requesting more music. Consider your wish granted!
Also on that note, I am overwhelmed and so grateful for the kind, inspiring, and helpful comments we have gotten recently, AND for the huge influx of new subscribers. We are SO excited to have you along for our journey!
If you wish to help us create these videos and continue our mission to sail around the world, please consider donating at this link. We have some nice rewards associated with donations as well! www.patreon.com/user?u=13249792

My wife and I are into our sixties and since the start of January 2019 we have started to follow some of the other people sailing around the world. Sailing Uma and La Vagabond to name but two but I should also say that Sailing Catalpa has been our longest adventure series so far. I found you just a day or so ago and dipped in to a couple of episodes. We have spent today watching you from the start of your adventures. The quality of your videos are outstanding and the music you play or find to back your programmes is fantastic. It is great to see young people who have met, share a dream, fall in love and make their adventures happen. Long may you sail in safety, enjoy each other and your joint adventures. We have been married for 19 years as of the 18/03/2019. We have never had an argument, we go to sleep with a kiss and a re affirmation of our love for each other, we awake to smiles regardless of how we feel and within minutes find something to laugh about. That sets the seal on our day every day. Sail safe, take care of each other, please take advantage of you poetic nature we loved the episode that you created your days adventure in poetic form and your prose style of delivery is one of the things we enjoy. Go on your travels with love and safety.

I hope that you continue to follow our adventures, there are many more in the future! -Maya

Just found yournpostings a couple of days ago when you posted about buying a new boat, so I am catching up on all of your videos. I wish that I were doing the same thing as that was one. of my dreams when I was young. However, my wife did not have the same dream nor did she want to live on a boat, so I am living my dream through you. Love the fact that your mate is a trained boat builder so he knows his way around the boat as well as your background in sailing. I also love the music, so keep making your beautiful postings and I will travel with you anonymously. Good winds and safe travel.

I've enjoyed what you've done so far. I also came down through the French canals, from the channel, with a Westerly Tiger sailing boat, 1971, that I bought on ebay one drunken evening. I've also restored the boat but not to the extent that you've done with yours which, I must add, looks really fine. At the moment my boat is in Toulon and I'm waiting to cross to Sardinia once work is out of the way. Keep up the absolutely charming journey. My father, by the way, was a passionate violinist so it's really nice to hear some fiddling. Play in the next episode that piece from the 'last of the Mohicans'. All the best. Oh, by the way I've also crossed continents with a bicycle. Best holidays ever.
