Great video
Very useful lesson. thank you. Today for breakfast I prepared vegetable upma with diced capsicum and carrot and fresh green peas . Roasted the semolina and kept it aside. And in a caurdlon did seasoning using ghee with mustard , black gram seeds and a red chilly. Added finely chopped ginger and green chillies to it and sauted it very well. Then poured one and a half glass of water to it and brought it to boil. Here added salt to taste. Then put the roasted semolina to it and stirred it very well. Simmered the flame mixed it thoroughly till it became smooth and soft. Finally garnished with finely chopped corriander leaves. (You can add half cup of milk to it which enhances the taste Which is optional).

Excellent response, Beena. Here are a few suggestions for you: 1) Are you giving instructions or are you talking about a specific time in the past when you cooked this dish? If you are giving instructions, remember to use the present simple tense throughout your description: 'Roast the...' not, 'Roasted the...' 2) Did you mean, 'Add it to a cauldron...' rather than, 'And in a caurdlon...'? 3) '...and season using ghee...' not, '...did seasoning using ghee...' Hope this helps you!

Super.....
This video is useful, short and precise. Yet clearly explains everything. Yesterday I cooked noodles in the evening and for that first I took half a carrot, half a capsicum, some beans, one fourth cabbage, 3 green chillies and a small red onion. Then I put a saucepan half filled with water on the gas and let the water to boli. Meanwhile I finely chopped all the veggies except the chillies. I slit the chillies. When the water was boiling I added 1 ts of salt and 1ts of oil in it and the noodles were added. After 4mins I turned off the gas and strained the noodles. Then I pour cold water on my noodles so that they didn't stick to one another. Then I stir fry the veggies on high heat for 5mins. After that I added noodles and poured generous amount of soy sauce and mixed all the ingredients and cooked for another 5 mins. Then I turned off the gas. The hot noodles was then transferred into a bowl. I sprinkled some blak salt and black pepper over it and garnished it with some mint leaves and enjoyed the food while watching TV. Thanks.

We're glad you enjoyed the lesson. Thanks for sharing your response. Here are a few suggestions for you: 1) '...and let the water boil,' not, 'to boil.' 2) The common abbreviation for tablespoon is 'tbsp' and teaspoon is 'tsp.' 3) 'Then I poured cold water...' not, 'pour.' Hope this helps you!

Thank you indeed for a very useful lesson 😊 Could you please help with the meaning of the word 'season'? Is it only for spices or also for oil? And paprika with the stress on the second syllable - is it for the spice also? Thanks a lot)))
@Oxfordonlineenglish1
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Natalia. Thank you for watching and sharing your question. 'Season' means to add flavoring to food in order to enhance the taste. This can be done with spices or condiments such as sauces and oils. Yes, the second syllable is stressed in the spice 'paprika'. Hope this helps you!

Rich OOE Teacher
thanks for sharing sir, so interesting I'll show you how to make a Moroccan salad (of course using some of the verbs from the lesson) we need an onion, a tomato, green pepper, hot pepper, cucumber, and lettuce. First, we peel the tomato, the cucumber, and the onion and then chop them as finely as possible. Second, after deseeding the green pepper, we cut it into strips and then dice the strips. after that, slice the lettuce into thin ribbons. When we've done with cutting vegetables, we bring a container and put the vegetables in it. we mix the ingredients together. before serving drizzle a small amount of olive oil and vinegar over the salad. It's also preferable to sprinkle a spoonful of cumin.

Excellent response! Here are a few suggestions for you: 1) 'When we're done cutting the vegetables...' or, 'When we've finished cutting the vegetables...' not, 'When we've done with cutting vegetables.' 2) 'Before serving, drizzle...' not, 'before serving drizzle...' Hope this helps you!
