Great job splitting wood. Yes you can use a long solid piece of wood to split a long log round or one that has hard-to-split whorled wood from branching. Put a big stone under bottom log rounds to keep ALL wood from contacting soil wetness and rot. Criss cross stacking is best for air circulation and drying and markedly reduces the critters nesting in between pieces with traditional parallel stacking of wood. Now put a piece of old tarp, old roofing, or even banana leaves on the top most layer of the woodpile to keep it dry. But leave sides open in the drying sunshine. Good job mulching the tomato plants. I'd like to see you make big compost piles and you can make "compost tea" to fertilize your plants. Would ash is good to add to compost pile or even garden soil, but the carbonates will tend to alkalinize the soil, which is okay if your soil tests as acidic ... too much ash is bad. Very nice eggplant growth. I wonder ... you must be using some supplemental inorganic fertilizer?

These trees have lots of termites. If you bring it to your house it will attack your house and destroy it. I can see the termites crawling out of the dead tree.

He must mean the rainy or monsoon season(?). Correct, tomatoes are entirely tropical in growth character and involute or don't bear fruit below a certain temperature. They look robust. A person that lives in a warmer subtropical or tropical zone feels chilly below 78-80°.
