Go through the optional Subject syllabus of UPSC examination. See, what subject interests you and then try to do a graduation on it. It might be useful. Otherwise, you can have any degree. Its not an issue.. For Safer Step you may choose any professional course..

The syllabus is the soul of any exam. Knowing the syllabus is the foremost thing to do before you go through the books. The UPSC has provided the syllabus for the Civil Services Preliminary and Main examination in an elaborate manner. Aspirants should understand and follow the syllabus for UPSC civil service examination. Knowing the syllabus will help you to choose relevant study materials, prioritize the subjects, etc. The newspapers are the most important aspect of the IAS exam. Create a habit of reading newspaper. The NCERT textbooks from classes six to twelve play a very significant role in IAS exam preparation. Aspirants can get basic concepts and theories from NCERT textbooks. These books provide the information very coherently. Moreover, they are reliable too as the source is the government itself.

Always choose a professional course or choose a course which you are really interested in.. Start your preparation from now itself..Understand the UPSC pattern and procedure first. Go through the UPSC syllabus thoroughly. Start reading a few books and watch video lectures online for a few basic subjects like polity, history, geography, etc. Read the newspaper regularly. Best wishes from Minds of children

IAS posting laam you can't get Dinesh after you become lawyer...you have to write upsc(civil service exam) and clear all round with high rank then only you became IAS officer...for that you have to complete your degree in any discipline..if you're interested in law then you study law first then you write a UPSC exam.. what's your ambition??
