My packages are arriving while I am on the road working. Can’t wait to get home! Went with RCBS Summit and Chargemaster along with the RCBS Universal brass station. These videos really helped me choose pieces instead of getting some kit I would have hated. Better to cry now. Retirement is going to be a blast!

Few tips, I've got my lab scale from a lab closing down, measure to the kernel for $150. World Finest Trimmer on a drill press same results/time a lot cheaper. Finally, Labradar all the way, I literally used all options in the market, and nothing compares to it, for example Magnetospeed on a tapered barrel or 338LM with a big brake is always a challenge, and there is the changing of point of impact.

cccssscccsss2 , worlds finest trimmer does not deburr and chamfer. Is your scale MFR or strain gauge? What is the linearity of your scale?

Good video. I love my AMP. I've had it for about 4 years. Like you, I anneal after every load/fire cycle. It's so easy and fast , why wouldn't I? Only takes me about 4 seconds per case. It takes me longer to find the correct pilot because I have about 20 of them. I will never buy a magnetospeed. When I go to my gunrange, I might bring up to half a dozen guns. No way I'm switching it back and forth that much. And I test for accuracy at the same time so I don't want something hanging off my muzzle. I have a Labradar, Oehler 35P and a Caldwell. Use all three, depending on the application.

Bryan Litz did a test on Annealing and if it helps your S.D. He found it had no effect on that. Giving you more reloads is a fact tho. Just a little information on annealing and S.D.

We know that brass hardens after being worked repeatedly over time. We know that case neck hardness undoubtedly plays a role in setting neck tension. And we know that neck tension directly affects muzzle velocity and SDs. You might not see a difference between newly annealed brass and brass that's been fired/resized 2-3 times, but the difference becomes more noticeable as the brass gets worked and becomes harder. "Harder brass gives more (neck tension) and softer gives less." You can tell when it's time to anneal. The bullets start loading difficult into the case and start popping into the case instead of sliding into the case neck smoothly. A good rule of thumb for most reloaders is to to anneal after 3-4 loadings. However, most bench rest and top PRC shooters anneal after every firing.

@@josephhomen I have read some on Litz's annealing tests. It seems his tests were limited to .223 and .308 Lapua brass. He even cautioned that more tests need to be done with other cartridges, load pressures and brass types before any sweeping conclusions are drawn. Nonetheless, it is incorrect to say that he found no difference between Lapua brass that was and wasn't annealed. Litz actually found there was a slight improvement after annealing (7.5 to 6.9 SD). Most people know that Lapua is among the thickest and highest quality brass out there. It also ships annealed. I have some Lapua brass for my 6.5 Creedmoor brass that I've loaded over ten times and still haven't had to trim. That should tell you all you need to know about how lightly that brass has been worked. On the other hand, I have Nosler brass for my .300 Win Mag and Weatherby brass for my .300 Wby Mag that needs to be trimmed after 2 successive firings. Obviously, that brass is being worked a lot more. In any event, I suspect we will find that the load pressure, shoulder contour and brass quality will be important factors to consider.

I splurged on the Chargemaster about 7 yrs ago, haven't regretted that move. I splurged on an Annealeeze this year, couldn't justify the induction style ones at their price level, have to use a heck of a pile of brass for that. Picked up a Hornady case prep/trimmer center last year. Second choice would be a Henderson precision unit, but they add up as well with the add-on cutter heads. Over the last 4-5 yrs I've acquired the stuff from 21st Century for neck turning, including the lathe setup. Din't really NEED any of it, but, it sure goes a lot faster with the Hornady center than it did before, and the Chargemaster is for when I don't want to use the beam scale, and there is a limit on what I'll use it for, after that I use ball powder and a thrower where possible. I like the fact the Magnetospeed is not light reliant, I've had a few times at the range even with my Oehler, that it acted up, which is frustrating when you wanted to do a quick check on a powder and what it is doing, not nearly as bad as a Chrony though. And the Magnetospeed is convenient if you are at a busy range. BUt, to me a chrono is indispensible for working up powder/bullet combos and checking speed vs pressure limits. The AutotricklerV3 would be nice, but, not absolutely convinced it is worth the investment., maybe, if the Chargemaster dies. I think now that RCBS came out with the Matchmaster, we'll perhaps see the price on some of the upper end scales come down a hair, may take a bit of time yet though. I think the market is there for them now.

The match master at $900 seems oddly priced IMO. I haven't seen one in person but between the autotrickler for almost the same price and likely far quicker, I don't see RCBS justifying the cost, but who knows.

@@BoltActionReloading Ya, wondering if the QC is there on the RCBS, it will take a while to be recognized, or not. The 120 scale has a track record, Autotrickler is speedy, and for pretty much the same loot, seems to be the way to go. Maybe we're just too skeptical...or just too poor.
