I think studying this piece my senior year of college and auditioning at grad school with this piece made me fall in love with the saxophone and music again entirely. This composition as well as his quatour pour saxophones really genuinely made me feel something entirely new for my craft. The diminished language Desenclos pioneered for the saxophone is undeniable in these compositions.
