Hey hun, idk what your chemist told you about it, but I’m in nursing and we have been taught that your should take lactulose 30 minutes away (either before or after) any other meds because it can affect the absorption. Just something you can maybe look into to ensure everything is okay!

I remember my poor Mama taking Lactulose because of an elevated Ammonia level in her bloodstream due to Bile Duct Disease/Primary Biliary Cirrhosis. She had constant watery diarrhea and lived a rather horrid last year of her life.

Hey Amy, first of all, I love you, you're an awesome person. I love how you're such a warrior with everything happening. I just wanted to give you a helpful tip about your lighter. The shiny middle piece where you place your thumb? Pop that out with tweezers or a small screwdriver. It makes lighting a lighter SO much easier!

Lactulose is made of indigestible milk sugars. It works by drawing water into your colon, but it can cause cramping and bloating. But so can most laxatives so you just have to try. Miralax causes me the least amount of pain, but even that isn’t pleasant. Good luck and I hope you find something that helps move things along. 😊

Super late to this party, but magnesium has helped me immensely.

My son was on lactulose and it worked okay for him. He was changed to a stronger one, sachets. But it wasn’t drawing enough water in to help him. Laxatives can be so hit and miss. The first one had him in so much pain with cramping. Love your videos!

I know things are a lot harder on you than me and I know how much I stugle so I know it can't be any easier for you. I hope and pray that your life will keep moving forward and I know that someday you will become all that you want to be.

pop sockets, phone covers, oooooh for your spoonie followers you could do things like tubie pads and line clips (the ones that attach to your cloths and the line sits in the loop part of it) Someone else said wrist bands which could be cool specially if you did them for like your diagnosis's like have pots wrist band during that month and then a zebra one during GP awareness month and then maybe proceeds or part proceeds from those wrist bands can go to organisations in Australia that help/support said illnesses

Lactulose is a very sweet & sticky laxative. Lots of people use it, it didn’t do much for me but it’s a common one!

How about producing stickers or badges? Maybe in a set of four so you could have illustrations of your dogs, you and Tom in the same pack? Love your Vlogmas videos, glad to see you doing so well :)

I take lactulose! And it works usually overnight thats the best time to take it is at night! Well that's what I found out for me! Everybody's body is different and how medication works is different in each person!

Hi I had that laxative when I was in hospital when I was having a tumour removed from my spine! It was different brand as I live in England but it worked well for me!

I’m a nurse and we use lactulose at work. That stuff is sticky! 😂 but very effective. Good luck!

Lactulose is VERY thick. You will need to flush with lots of water after. It also made me get nauseous, even when going down j tube. But I hope it works for you

Yes I have had it. It is very thick and sweet. It is quite gentle so it is good.

Lactulose is very much like really concentrated corn syrup. It is not the type of laxative that makes you "go" soon after taking it. Taken regularly it softens things up.

I used to use lactulose as I'm on buprenorphine patch but recently switched to laxido, it dissolves in water so that may be too much liquid for you.

Lactulose didn’t work for me and made me really ill! But that was just my experience with it but they then gave me movicol and laxido and that has worked a bit better but nothing seems to be working properly for me🤷🏻‍♀️

Lactulose didn't do much for me actually... I can't remember what dose I took but I was told it was mild and it literally did nothing... I really hope it goes better for you!

My son was on lactulose. It works really well but sometimes the amount the doctor prescribes can be too much or not enough. I had to change my sons dose to half of what the doctor prescribed. It may be different for you though!! Love the videos❤️

Hi Amy. Yes...Before I got my ileostomy last October, the dr had me try Lactulose. My experience was not so good! It made me have the worse cramps I’ve ever had! He tried me after that on a few other prescriptions, no luck. I ended up with an ileostomy. Amy, since...I’ve had 8 surgeries because of bowel issues. This has all been connectors the stabbing I survived when I was 18 yrs old. Anyway, just because the Lactulose didn’t work for me, remember, I had major issues all in my tummy. It may work great for your!

Don’t know if someone already told you or not but choc-ice bars sound like Klondike bars which aren’t on a stick but a thin layer of chocolate (different types if you get different flavors) around ice cream and so good. And we also have Dove bars which same type of thing but on a stick. (In the US)

Canned drink huggie/koozie or whatever it's called there. Usually made of foam, keeps drink can cold. I would buy that.

iv'e had lactulose its very very sweet and its really thick what i normally do because i don't like sweet syrups i have abit of water in my mouth then take the lactulose with the water as it makes it easier to swallow.

I am currently taking Lactulose. If you can could you take it orally. It tastes almost like honey. It works good. Sometimes can make you crampy or gassy. Just letting you know. But all and all it is good stuff.

Personally I would find small items that people can wear as merch that aren't too expensive. Wristbands and badges are good. You'll probably end up making more money from those as more people will be able to afford to buy them (and they can be really cheap to make).

Hi, Amy 💕 I go to the bathroom two or three times a month. My experience was that lactulose increase my abdominal pain and gas and nausea. I took 40ml per day. But still it wasn't easy to go to the bathroom. I tried all the laxative as I could. But nothing came out and I don't feel like have to go to bathroom. 😭 They said that stool is still in the upper part of the X-ray even after 14 days, so if you eat "Miralax", you will get a bowel movement. But still same....... ㅠㅠ It's not yet diagnosed. And next step will be colonic transit study which is sitz marker test. I'm waiting answer for Johns Hopkins.

What about having a "cartoon" type sketch done of your dog and putting it on a shirt? Have "Amy's Life" in a half circle either over or under your pup. That would be very cute🐶💜

My sister was taking that before her liver transplant now my dad is he was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and liver cancer he had chemo and his tumor is gone.

OMG! Lactulose!! Gas, gas GAS!! Told my doctor they should call it jacuzzi in a bottle, at the time I only had a bathtub. Has anyone suggested coconut oil? Though I'm not sure that it would work with the J tube.

Can you Miramax which my doc has me taking every day but...you can mix it in your tea, Dr pepper, juice etc. Clear and no flavor

I have that lactulose I find that its very sweet but does the job (I just hate drinking it aha)

Would you be able to split up the 5ml dose of lactulose required over the span of the day instead of all at once? Just a thought.

I bloat like that after eating, I literally had half a tin of sweetcorn and looked pregnant. It's so frustrating especially as doctors don't know whats wrong with me! Im being tested for PoTS ATM tho

I also have gastroparesis and I always get bloated after eating. And there are days when it's so bad I cant eat anything.

I am allergic to lactulose..check with your doctor I believe it can bring your sugar levels up..its a laxative that causes dehydration too...be cautious! Wouldn't want anything to happen to you!
