Thanks for your advice, much appreciated. The stones were made for me in Adelaide, and traveled by air all the way from Australia to the UK, and then through the UK postal system and survived, I'm pleased to say. The box is now stored in my tool cabinet and very carefully handled by me. All the best, cheers Nobby.

​One thing i do remember from thise vids you mentioned is never touch them to your work without rubbing them together until they get this particular ultra smooth ringing sound​. It ensures theres no micro burrs sticking up👍👌🇦🇺 Stefan Gotteswinter also has some great vids on this topic@@nobbysworkshop

Very nice! I use precision ground stones, as well. Three sizes at this point. Not sure how I got along without them. Simply fantastic. Wish mine had a nice wooden box like yours.

You need to store the stones individually, not in such a box. The stones when the box is moved can clap together and shatter and break out chunks. Wrong design unfortunately.
