You are right Tony. You got to get out and scout around before season opens. And I agree the weather has really been humid and hot with lots of mosquitoes. Appreciate the videos. Stay cool when you can.

Check near by air field landing strips for prevailing winds. Also, I hunt in similar areas of the south, and prefer the east side set up, for morning sun and that an east wind is rare as it relates to changing wind patterns (like cold fronts). If possible I prefer to set up in shallow wet areas where my falling scent is dispersed in the water. Good hunting.

How often do you see big buck rubs (3 or 4inch trees)? Thanks for the videos ...

Most any buck will rub a small diameter tree, but mostly big bucks will rub larger diameter trees.

Yes, it would be, but you'd need to make sure you are far enough off the road.

I have deer hunted for 60 years, but I have never hunted here in Florida. too many snakes, mosquitos, and chiggers. I go to the mountains where there is snow and cold temperatures........I haven't been snake bit yet. unlike my neighbor.

can we do that in public land

+Yeral Rodriguez Yes, you can. Most public hunting areas have recreational access allowed every day during daylight hours, and scouting would fit into that category. BUT, you can't hang your stand until the day before hunting season comes in.
