I still think Pikachu is hella broken. I have always thought this for years, regardless of meta. Quick Attack and his pancake effect are not balanced at all, coupled with his framedata and all ariels killing

I wouldn’t say outplayed. Leo played amazing but Pikachu is potentially the best character in the game. Only issue is Shinymark doesn’t travel much. Shinymark might win the main S Factor this weekend as well. Pikachu is busted as Esam says. It’s just Esam isn’t THAT level of good to show it. Mark is though.

Because the damage from each hit doesn't do that much. It's when it's combo together, that is what makes the damage happen

Ngl Leo was playing GODLIKE taking in count that Pika is on of Jokers worse match ups, and also being patience and agressive at the same time, truly marvelous, I think he can win the real even if he plays this good

​That is because Pika is small as shit lol, smaller than Pichu. All of Joker's aerials are jaggedly shaped and angular, nothing hits the ground cleanly, so he misses Pika extremely often. Edit: dair works okay, and as you can see Leo uses it a lot in this mu, but it's f13 and ~-11 block (back hit) or -7 (front hit) when landing, but that's not great vs Pika, even on cross up. It's terrible from a rising sh, easy up smash. His "neutral" aerials, nair and bair, are very rough, however ​@@jeffersonian4

@@Im0nJupiter I know pika's small. That doesn't normally affect Leo. He's done just fine against esam's pika and dabuz's olimar, to name a couple. Also, have you played against Joker? That character does not struggle to land hits, especially with arsene active. I think Leo was just having an off day. Shiny is good, but Leo can definitely beat him

@@jeffersonian4 it did matter vs Esam, he missed like constantly and then learned to just disengage completely, that's why Esam kept getting away with mashing bair and eventually won due to slanted risk/reward. I've played against a lot of Joker AND Pika and played as both a lot too. The match up is messed up, it's very awkward for Joker and he does struggle for hits without arsene. I feel extremely carried as Pika in the mu, it's free as fuck, and great Joker players flail in the match up trying to land anything. Mark played great, of course, and I don't think this was an off day for Leo. This is how the mu goes: You swing at nothing for a chance to hit, or you repeatedly disengage. He decided not to lose the same way as he lost to Esam, and to challenge the air. It was a choice, and Leo played great and lost. Pika's just small and you need to choose how to deal with that. Edit: I think my original comment got incinerated by the filters

It's the only aerial Joker has that really works vs Pika. Bair is like 45 degree fan behind Joker, you can envision it like a straight line from his leg to his dagger and towards his body, that misses the small hurtbox of Pika and whiffs unless your timing is perfect (but perfect timing is also VERY predictable and easy to parry). Nair is similar, it has to be the part of the circle that can actually clip pika, at a 45 degree angle below Joker. So dair it is, unfortunately, and when you go for your only timing mix up (which is very minus and comes out very slow relative to other aerials), you miss a lot and get punished.

The only critique I have of ShinyMark is that he doesn't commit and his neutral isn't the best. There were a lot of instances where Mark could have ended a stock but you can see the clock. He likes to wear down the time because it wears down the player. But that is good for Leo because it gives him time to adjust to his movements. Like when Mark quick attacked to stage then ledge. He was trying to camp Leo, because camping is Marks best game plan against Leo.

Shinymark finally has the spotlight he deserves ⭐️

People give Steves crap for spamming minecart out of hit stun "because it is strong" (and rightfully so), but we dont talk enough about pikachu's spamming quick attack. It will get punished twice in a row, and they will STILL press it every 3 seconds because its so strong.

Movement options on small hit box and hurtbox characters is more then fair. Also pikachu has the worst ledge hang in the game and is the easiest to 2 frame so again there's reasons...

Shinymark could edgegaurd Leo the whole set, but Leo could not edgeguard Shinymark. You could see each time Shinymark escaped a combo he drifted offstage because there was no challenge to it. Leo’s got to learn how to edgegaurd pika somehow, so it’s not so one-sided next time
