Pre-adjudication Restorative Justice: Models and Practices

The presenters in this session will introduce the fundamental concepts of restorative justice- an alternative approach to dealing with crime. Restorative justice emphasizes the understanding of the underlying needs that led to an offense, as well as the impacts of the crime on the victim and the wider community. By promoting accountability and fostering greater understanding, restorative justice approaches offer valuable contributions. During this webinar, representatives from community restorative justice programs will share insights about their programs and how they engage with the criminal justice system. They will also highlight outcomes relevant to the prevention and intervention of community violence and provide recommendations for the implementation of restorative justice programs.
