Praying Like Jesus - John 17

John 17 is one of the most remarkable chapters in the Bible, the only written record of an extended prayer of Jesus. We can learn a lot from this prayer, and especially be grateful that Jesus prays for His people.

i had an awesome awareness of the Lord's presence, power and love during this sermon and caught just a glipse of His desire to glorify His Father. I see my total need for Him in light of His total brilliance and glory. He is so glorious, so brilliant and this world is so far from Him. May my life glorify Him.

Yes John 17 is one, wonderful prayer. It certainly draws you in, that he prays that we may be where Jesus is. Now this is eternal life. It's scary and amazing all at the same time.

Good sermon but I have a question Was this a day you cleaned the grounds around your church, that is what your dressed for. Making a video for the mass audience this is totally inappropriate, Give God your very best, not gubbies! Know this, I never criticize God's people unless something is really out of order, as this is! But my thought is you will think my comment is critical and judgemental. Actually it is a word of rebuke! Will you take it?

John the Baptist wore goat hair for clothing and ate locust and wild honey. He was a voice crying in the wilderness. Isaiah 40:3 A voice of one calling: "In the wilderness prepare the way for the LORD; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.” I don’t understand why an evening Bible study dressed casually would bother you? Did you even listen to the teaching? My prayer request to the Father would be to give you wisdom, & grace. Why? So you may glorify God through this teaching of God’s word rather than criticizing the Pastor. We are to be one in the Lord not divided.

@@virginiamadrid1972 John the Baptist wandered around in the wilderness wearing clothing appropriate to the environment. This is not the point. A preacher trying to look cool in not dressing in basic clothing has an agenda. Don't be fooled.

@@MsDrSantana the simple solution for you is just not watch any Pastor that doesn't 'suit' you. I'm not the one being fooled. Pastor Guzik is one of the few Pastors that teach chapter by chapter and verse by verse. He is an excellent teacher, not trying to be a GQ model.

If you are going to rebuke him based on his dress, please do so with chapter and verse! We live in the presence of God as born again Christians. I dont need to dress up for church, that is modern tradition... not a biblical command. Are you so concerned with the external? I dont "dress up" for fellowship either... It can be pretentious and proud! As Paul said to the philosophers on Mars Hill...I perceive you are VERY RELIGIOUS
