of course, most people think prayer is talking to God and 90% of the time asking for something. Real prayer is listening!

so too i am thinking; reason that i can't find it in my heart to pray just like i did before. life has changed at least for me.

He also said "religious" really means reaching the highest of intelligence. So "very religious" shall have very high perception and receptivity ! :) What he meant is you don't need to be "religious" to pray. Just your attitude and understanding of life "make one a prayer" not "necessarily" going to church/temple or "saying or reading" a prayer (alone). Dull is used a bit different sense here and to be understood and also not opposite to "smart" you meant. Increase perception and experience !

He did not say religion makes people dull., when a student just mugs and knows by heart his lessons and appears for the exam he may just manage to pass his exam but has not acquired any real knowledge He will find academic life boring and taxing and looks for ways to avoid it Compare it to a student who understands the concepts and he will just breeze though his exams and may pursue higher levels of learning.Understand the real meaning of mantras and prayers you will benefit from it.

On one of the videos I saw from a doctor, it shows repeating the name of God to stay in a state of prayer and meditation on this on I think it's focused on not letting that prayer be your main kind of prayer, "know each prayers purposes."

A great video Idea for Sadhguru would be a quick brahmarpanam food prayer that others can play before food. until it becomes manifest within their own systems

Prayers and their repetition give us an opportunity to introspet. We get to know the good and bad within us. We should give up the bad things and try to augment the good virtues within us. Perhaps that's how we become better than what we are. We become something better than what we are. Is this what Sadguru means. By the way I didn't understand the Baptist storey.

It is funny to observe how in my country, where most of the population are muslims, and having to read so called Namaz five times a day- prayer . So if lets say I am on the road from one city to another and the driver is muslim - he jumps off the car on a certain time of the day and runs to read namaz! He does it and comes back to the car in few minutes and continues driving . Maybe he goes into that qualitative state , I dont know, but does not look like 💁🏼

i feel stupid for asking this but is that a wooden flute that plays in the beginning of his videos??

"Prayer is something that you become ,not something that you do" ...is it like the water that we drink becomes us , Mantras that we recite works within us by some kind of activation , invigoration . Is it made for the sake of our well being and self attainment or realization ,rather than attaining God ? Is it that the conscious within us ,which is invisible and indestructible is ,actually, God ..! Is this how God is present in all living creatures on this planet, Sadhguru ? I think , Krishna did say to Arjun that " i am you ...!
